Sadly no sales after a month. Little traffic. Tried Pinterest for directing. Hopefully things will pick up.
Hi Jason and welcome to Folksy. For a lot of people it does take time to get their first sale, I think it took a couple of months for my first one. You have to be prepared to advertise yourself on social media as much as possible, Instagram, Facebook etc as this will get you noticed. Also get involved in the forums there’s lots of helpful people here who are only too happy to offer advice and tips, they are also potential customers too! Good luck
Just adding my Welcome to Folksy. I have found it an easy and fun site to use, though my sales have been few. I echo Hilary’s advice about the forum, other sellers are buyers too. I recommend the Daily Challenge thread. It takes commitment and time each day, but you have plenty of items in your shop to share ( the idea is one a day for the month, in turn you “favourite” everyone else’s items, thus giving them a brief spell on Folksy’s homepage. Full instructions are on the thread). Wishing you every success with your shop.
Just had a quick view of your shop, some very nice items you have for sale, I do like your pen and ink drawings, something I like to do in my spare time. I agree with the other comments, it takes time to get views and sales, one thing I did notice is your dispatch times, 21 days after payment seems to be a long time, unless you are making to order, customised items or commissioned items, then 7 days dispatch time would be the maximum acceptable (in my opinion) , sorry but 21 days dispatch would put a lot of customers off from purchasing.
Hi Jason, welcome to Folksy. I have to agree with Steve regarding the despatch time, 21 days will put people off it is a long time to wait. Presumably the item that people are viewing is the one they are going to get , is there a reason for the delay? I used to have 7 days on all my items as I could only get to the Post Office once a week, but when they brought in the collection service , I changed to 3 days dispatch unless an item was made to order.
Thanks everyone. That’s all very helpful. I’ve updated my dispatch time as most items are ready to go. I must have just left in on the default or 3 weeks!
Could I suggest that Pnterest is Not the best way to direct traffic to your shop. Instagram / Facebook work far better and can be much better targeted.
Hello,
I started a shop this week and still wandering around trying to find my way! Hope your sales will come
