Hi there, my name is Lorraine and my shop is @TheVelveteenCat. I’ve just reopened my shop after a number of years away from Folksy - in that incarnation I used to sell jewellery. Now I make gifts mainly out of resin as I am currently obsessed with it. The site looks great and I can’t wait to look around all the other shops. At the moment I am busy adding stock. Thanks for reading wishing everyone good fortune for 2025!
Hi Lorraine @TheVelveteenCat and welcome back to Folksy. I hope your shop is really successful , you have some lovely items.
Ah thanks Hilary and so do you! Gorgeous.
Welcome back Lorraine, wishing you every success
Welcome back Lorraine. Good luck with your shop.
Welcome back Lorraine you have some lovely items in your shop
Welcome back to Folksy, from one cat lady to another!
Welcome back…love the coasters
Hi Lorraine, @TheVelveteenCat
All the best with your re-opening of your shop.
What resins do you use, as we have tried one or two of the crafting ones, but I prefer to use a marine epoxy resin. As I use epoxy resin on my boat work and first used it in the early 1980’s when the WEST system came out. WEST is a USA brand, and suffers from the damper weather we have. So I used various ones over the years, but struggle with the craft ones? a me thing perhaps.
Anyway look forward to your new items when you load them up to Folksy.
Thank you so much. Just love your work - my shop feels very ‘empty’ by comparison!
Love your work - spotted the paw gift tags straight away.
Thanks Suzi, your work is amazing.
Hi Carrie, your work is stunning! Big hi to Bothy cats Willow and Pixie from Majora and Bean
Those chopstick holders are fabulous !!!
Will you be making other animals - like say a dragon or a dog? (she asks hopefully)

Oh my gosh - you are an artist! Love the positive attitude too x
Thank you so much. I adore natural wood - it’s just so lovely to hold and you have some wonderful items.
I started off using Just Resin but have switched to Mouldd (UK based). They are both really good but the Mouldd is proving to have less bubbles. It’s a 1:1 epoxy mix with about 40 mins work time (depending on outside temperature). After mixing the resin you can stand it in warm water which helps to release bubbles but I asked Santa for a Bubble exterminator from Resiners. I am itching to try it out with new creations but my focus is getting the shop up again. Hope that helps but if I can help in any way please let me know although I am no expert
Thank you so much and so is your dragon barrette to name just one! I can see why you might like a dragon (or dog) holder now! If I do, you will be the first to know
Welcome back Lorraine (and of course Majora and Bean).
Shop is looking good - - I love the ‘geode’ coasters
Aw thank you so much x
Hi Nikki, thank you so much! Your pieces are gorgeous - the colour combos and designs. Yeah the geode coasters are some of my favs, hoping to make a few more shortly
