Monthly Art Chat - August 2014

Thanks Hazel and Stephie

Lovely budgie. I bought a cyclamen today, will try painting it later.

Hi everyone! Didn’t get on the computer at all yesterday but some lovely work has appeared on here!
The sweet peas are gorgeous, Hazel.
Stephie, the eyes on the deer are stunning and the budgie is brilliant!
Fabulous trees, Margaret, with great texture.
Congrats on the article, Tessa. and waving, Jeanie! I hope I haven’t missed anyone out!
I have been painting and have just finished this…

Morning all, hopefully all back to normal now! No more nights out or fairs :). I’ve had a fab week though even if I am completely worn out now lol! :). Today we have a few things to finish in son’s room as he’s home later on today, but other than that it a crafty day, so I’m planning to do some mixed media ACEO’s and maybe a journal or two.

Your Gallery is looking fabulous Hazel

Have a great day Max

Thank you yes I love my Gallery, its a real folly but I love it

This is another of my triptych new pieces …

My miniatures sell over the other side so I think I will be listing it there …

I have been reading the thread here about folksy being quiet, I’ve had a couple of sales here this month but elsewhere is very busy for me, I am concerned that folksy isn’t doing so well especially when I read others are in the same boat … having invested in both the plus account and lots of time adding listings here …

My sales have plummeted from a very healthy 15 to 20 per month on here to a big fat zero this month. We’ve just come out of beta mode so that will affect google searches.

Luckily I’ve had plenty of sales offline!

Hazel your dark landscape silhouette is lovely, I really like that one.

Fab blog Tessa, I’ve left a comment.

Enjoy your crafting Max

We’re out for a family meal at some point today, just the four of us, to celebrate the academic successes of the last week.

Here’s my very cute and very moody budgie. She’s shouting a lot right now but when I go to see her she’s ignoring me - proper sulky teenager! But at least it’s only the bird, luckily neither of my real teens have gone through a sulky stage.

Just showing this new item here as some of you artists may want some trims for collage work…I just RE OPENED my shop with this little bundle.

Such lovely work again on here…waving to all x x Jeanie x
BTW still painting, but selling elsewhere!

Thanks Stephie  I had a message via facebook in my in box this morning so it’s now sold and on it’s way to Norfolk

Birdy is lovely … Sorry sales are slow here for you too but glad it’s not just my folksy shop that no ones seems to be able to find at the moment !!!
Enjoy your meal

Waving Jeanie

I’m not surprised that your landscape silhouette sold so quickly, Hazel, it was my favourite, too!

The budgie looks shy, rather than moody, Stephie! Clearly got great character!

Like Max, I’m having a painty, crafty day, as well!

Waving, Margaret and Jeanie!

Waving to all!

cute budgie Stephie, enjoy your meal,

Well done on your sales Hazel, sorry to hear that sales are not so good on Folksy at the moment. I have to admit that I’m spending my money on art supplies rather than artworks at the moment!lol

This painting was supposed to be of a cyclamen, using my Inktense blocks, but it turned into an abstract called ā€˜floral explosion’!

Thanks Pam - I have been looking at my larger pieces and seeing what I can do small scale - I did one like this last year and it sold quicky too

Art supplies are great Margaret, and your abstract is lovely I appreciate abstract more nowadays since I’ve done some with my wax on wood pieces and as we know I love colour so yours is great

Talking of art supplies I’ve just had to put in an order for more wax - the silver is all gone and I’m low on purple - can’t have that !!!

Lovely roses Hazel, glad you like my abstract. That’s the great thing about art. If it goes wrong we can always call it an abstract!lol

That’s very pretty Pam.
