Monthly Art Chat : November

they are super cute Stephie! How’s the new budgie settling in? you must have had him a few weeks now?

A couple more today  - had a bit of a tree day today!

glad it is sorted Margaret.
Lovely idea Stephie…good luck with commissions…I hate them…I am a rebel and like to do what takes my mood…lol
Lovely work Roz…how many finger jabs have you had? I once stuck a felting needle into my thumb and out the other side. Fortunately because you stab so quickly I also pulled it out before I realized what I had done…ouch !!

I think my fingers are immune now I’ve stabbed them that many times! I do have leather protectors if I am doing very small work although if you’re stabbing vigorously the needles go straight through the leather too!

Ouch Roz…been there done that…
Reference the VAT question…a friend of mine emailed UKIP and already they have replied and are on the case and already writing a letter to the commissioner (commissioner for what, I am not sure but still, at least they responded quickly)

This is lovely, is it been inspired by Glastonbury Tor at all?
I used to draw the Tor for my dad every birthday and fathers day through my childood, it’s somewhere we used to go every year. We’d go camping in Glastonbury every summer in our home made campers (mam and dad would tart up the back of the van into our very own custom camper). Lovely times.

Morning everyone, feel a little better today after an early night and dosed up. Hope Kit feels better soon Stephie, my used to suffer terribly with ear infections, thankfully he’s not so prone as he got older.

The VAT is only EU Sales Stephie excluding the UK for us, unless of course you have a turnover of £80k (we can dream lol), I’ve only ever sold one thing in the EU so not bothered really but I’ll adjust my postages just in case.

That’s really disappointing Margaret, I had a bad experience a few months ago with a book seller, I gave them every opportunity to sort it, but in the end E-B stepped in and gave me a refund, hope yours is settled soon.

Sold yesterdays artwork which is off to Dubai :). Listed this one today

Awesome poppies Max, glad you’re feeling a bit better.

Fab felted pictures Roz, very pretty.

My ebay purchase will be winging it’s way back to the seller today, so let’s hope the refund will wing it’s way to my bank account soon!

Afternoon everyone…had a nice lie in but was woken by the postman knocking AND the phone ringing at the same time…didn’t know which way to run first…didn’t get to either of them in time but luckily the phone was a wrong number and the postman left the parcel on the step…(very quiet up here)…

The VAT thing won’t be a problem on here it is just on the Bay where they are going to charge higher %'s to cover their extra expenses. SO, perhaps now is a good time to get more Folksy customers and tell more people about Folksy…

After my off putting ebay experience lately I’m not going to be buying much there now, and I’m trying to curb spending anyway so hopefully all this will help me start saving for my retirement (in about 20 years!)lol

Max Congrats on the sale, it was beautiful. The new one is lovely too.

Waving to everyone, I’m in a rush atm, off to the dentist to check that the ear problems (which include an abscess, yuck) are not related to wisdom teeth.

Just listed this one…

I got another mini pet portrait commission last night, that’s 3 in the last week , and all on folksy

Teeth are Ok thanks, lucky girl doesn’t even have any upper wisdom teeth, and the bottom ones are fine.

Beautiful painting Brenda

wow Stephie, I love the sky in that beach painting! Glad to here the teeth are ok, hope she’s feeling better.

Lovely scene Brenda.

I’ll be out most of tomorrow, I’m taking the parents to Holywell, to visit St Winifred’s Well and to call at the cafe next door for lunch. Will try to pop in tomorrow evening.

glad the dentist went well. I never had any wisdom teeth either…it wasn’t until my daughter had an xray when she was younger that the dentist said that SHE didn’t have any…I queried it as I thought that everyone had them…and then realised that it would explain why when I was at school and lots of people were having problems, I didn’t…no wisdom you see…lol.
Looking forward to my Saturday lie in…back tomorrow afternoon…

Morning, glad to hear your daughters teeth are fine Steph, I do have wisdom teeth and one has actually come through, though only a few year ago luckily there was enough room, my dentist always says lets check the one up in the gods when I go for a check up lol!

well done on the sales too Steph.

enjoy your day out Margaret

Enjoy your lie in Brenda

We’re off down to West Wales this morning, just overnight though back tomorrow so I might not be round much this weekend

Morning All

Good to hear things are getting better for your daughter Stephie and well done on all the sales.

Lovely pendant Max

Have a great day out Margaret

The wearther here is not good today and hubby is doing DIY with my Dad so I’ve been keeping myself busy, made new banners for my shops and doing some new listing elsewhere.

Hopefully this new shop front will attract some attention to Art In Wax lol it’s fun anyway

I love your banners Hazel, they are very eye catching.

I spent the morning chasing around trying to get more strong codeine painkillers. The GP refused to do them yesterday because we hadn’t given them 48 hours notice, so we had to go back to the hospital this morning. No wonder A&E and the hospital walk in centres can’t cope!

I went to hobbycraft for some spray glue this afternoon, I’ve successfully backed my rabbit oil painting onto mount board to give it stability. but now my fingers keep sticking together. I can’t seem to get it off!

Here’s my latest listing

Evening all, the day out went well although Dad falling off his chair in the cafe was a bit worrying. I had to get the waiter to come and lift him up! There is a small art gallery in the cafe with art from an artist I’ve met, so I did manage to fit some art into the day!

Love the Christmassy banner Hazel.

I like negative painting Brenda, but like most things, it’s not as easy as it looks. This painting has some lovely colours in it.
