New shop. New owner Help!

Hi everyone. I’m new to folksy and still trying to work out the forum aswell. I recycle gin bottles and dehydrate botanicals. There are only a couple of items so far but feel free to have a browse.

welcome to folksy…love the bottle…my favourite colour…(I don;t drink alcohol so wouldn’t want anything like it in my house but I know a lot of people who DO)…I hope you do well.
You need to go to your shop and put something in your profile about yourself. People love to read the story behind what you make.
COme on the forums as often as you can, so that people get to know you.
Good luck x

Hi there, hope you have fun with your new shop!

I’d also make sure all listings have the weight of the items you are selling (the peppercorns one doesn’t), so people know exactly how much they are buying for the price you are asking. And if the items are for food use, it would be good to know the method of dehydration etc eg freeze dried, oven dried etc so people understand whether any chemicals have been used in the process. As Brenda says, add in a bit about yourself as this adds interest and will make people remember you!

Add the measurements of the gin bottle (I can see 70cl from the label but don’t know whether this is a ‘full’ bottle or ‘half size’ etc) and how it lights up eg I can’t understand how you’d switch the light on or off from the photos. Is it a string of fairy lights pushed into the bottle and therefore do I have to take the lights out each time I want to switch it on or off.

People can’t see the item in hand so you have to describe everything as much as possible, trying to second guess what questions they’d have. It’s a hard job to get right and when I get the chance I try to revise my own descriptions as I inevitably end up missing out vital bits of info on my own listings!!

Good luck

Thank you that’s great advice I will have another look at my listing and add some stuff in. X

Thank you for your help I will think of something I can put on my profile page. X

I would seriously look into breaching other People’s Trade Marks.

You disclaimer is not legal if the Trade Mark owner decides to come after you. In fact it can be used against you as you clearly know you are selling something using their Trade Mark company name.

This is not a good idea however the idea of recycling the bottle into a lamp of some sort is fine however unless you have a license with the Trade Mark Owner you can’t use their name.

You are opening up yourself to be sued.
