NO BUY SUPPLIES - challenge April 2025

I just HAVE to keep buying white card and white art paper…after all, it would be dreadful if it was no longer available anywhere wouldn’t it?

See that is how I think as well… I buy mountains of everything just in case I can’t get it again lol  I love that all crafters can Always justify buying more supplies whether needed or not.

I think that’s why I never bothered, too confusing, there are people who sell handmade on there though for definite, there’s one lady who sells lots of hand knitted jumpers :woman_shrugging:

I know, there’s loads of handmade items on there, totally confusing! I’ve found something in their advice that says you can sell handmade items you’ve brought from say E..y and resell that as long as it’s new with tags, this doesn’t really make sense

How is everyone getting on? I have been good, listed a length of fabric this morning sold. Another ready to list tomorrow. Just doing a bit a day of decluttering, or gets too much and lose interest, lol.

I haven’t cracked yet :joy:. I’ve been having a sort out and have sold some beads and sequins and some card blanks I couldn’t get on with. I’ve nearly run out of foam pads but I think they’re allowed?

Basic such as thread, foam pads glue etc yes. More beads, toppers etc no!

I’ve not been tempted yet! I listed some paper pads this morning but no interest yet.

I’ve got some cards that need going into cello bags later and I’ve got a feeling that I’m nearly out of a couple of sizes. I think they’ll come under necessary basics too though

I think that is a bit harsh. Most crafters have enough supplies to open a shop. I know half of mine gets resold or charity shop drop. Therefore I have to do a no buy month every now and then. Put in a massive order on the 30th for essentials just in case. Sales are lower atm hence no need to buy, we are all in the same boat.

I object to being attacked. We have been doing no buy for years. Our forum and our choice. It helps us realise what we have hidden away that should be used first. If you do not like the thread do not reply. The saying if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

I joined in this thread as a bit of fun as crafters are known for buying too much stuff and having cupboards full of items they will never use. Taking part in a, what is supposed to be, a light hearted conversation of like minded crafters makes you that you’re not alone and sometimes it can feel very lonely out there. Also this is a private, not open to the public, thread and can only be seen by Folksy sellers.

Thank you for your support Hilary, hugs.

Felt like packing in the forum again but have so many friends on here.

We all know that Sarah and Debby will come up with some excuse to buy during April!

Sometimes it just feels like we can’t have fun anymore! Yes the few people who signed up for not buying in April will be far outweighed by those spending!

I was looking for something his morning, as you do! Found a load of double sided foam pad in a drawer.
