I have fallen by the wayside and bought unnecessary supplies, only a small amount, lovely stickers and toppers from a shop on Folksy. I didn’t need them but the lady made a custom order batch for me a while ago and is closing her shop so I thought it would be nice to buy the last of the stock… I am holding my hands up but I know it is fine to buy from fellow sellers so didn’t need to really. I havn’t managed to do any clearing out but I am determined from now on I only buy essentials (unless helping a Folksy seller)
Buying from another seller does not count Debby as we all work as a team and have to help each other out. Do not panic hugs!
I am clearing at a rate of knots, managed to add just under 100 items to a charity bag. When full will drop of in Grayshott. A charity there that always like to have my old stock, have even opened the door early for me if the see me waiting. They open at 9:30, I thought 9. Standing patiently in the porch they knew I was coming. Lovely when you go past a shop and the window is full of your creations. Happy to help them raise money and I feel lighter when out the house.
That’s lovely to hear Caroline, I bet they look forward to going through it all. It definitely makes it worthwhile if it’s going to a good cause. I have a couple of childrens charities that I send monthly payments to as they don’t have shops in the area but I like Red cross and Emmaus for decluttering and donating household, clothes, grandsons toys etc.
Okay, update please, how are you all getting on?
I have been good, did have to buy some labels for the stock take but stationery so allowed. Nothing else bought or even looked at.
I restart making this coming week but determined to use up what I have unless essential such as Fabritac, go through so much of the glue as brilliant.
Going to make some snippet toppers and put of Flea to see how I get on.
Come own up who has cracked, you are all so quiet. Sarah @dotterypottery
Debby @Bearlescent
Who would like to do May as well? We could have the first few days to order, then be good say from the 5th.
I’m away at the minute and found a gorgeous bear in an antique shop that needs a lot of restoration, but he is for my own use, whilst in there I spotted some vintage/antique white lace fabric that I will use to make petticoats for dolls but that’s my only purchase and I purposely havn’t been in the wool- sewing shop. Pretty good I think andI’m not planning on buying anything next month either. Just a thought the lady let me have 2 of the pieces of lace for free so they don’t actually count.
I have been reasonably good I think apart from the incident with the baby pink cuddle fleece. However I haven’t had a lot of time to be looking at stuff to buy, what with the Christmas at Easter family visit and the making of the keepsake blanket. I am thinking, with my ridiculous head on, of making another, smaller mouse tree house possibly to sell this time. This project would make me class smarty pants as everything for this is made using up old boxes and paper (which I can’t seem to part with JIC)

I’ve not bought anything at all this month, not been painting much really, house OM so trying not to splatter paint up the walls. I’d love to see your antique teddy and lace @Bearlescent
I have also lost interest in making with no sales. After the decluttering of stock, never want to have that much again.
May make an item a week and promote the pants off the rest.
I’ve been good and not brought anything thing this month but I did give David a list of things for my birthday which I’ve just opened, does that count
?
I’ve been pretty good, with one relapse. I had to buy a specific colour thread for a embroidery kit order and I could only get online. Only needed 1 skein, but of couse I had to buy a few to justify the postage cost.
In terms of repeating this in May, I think we said earlier in the thread that we do this specific No Buy Supplies challenge every few months or so, so personally I’d rather we stick to that.
Nothing stopping us doing a different challenge though. How about Reduce our Stash Mountain where we either have to sell, donate or use own supplies, with before and after photos or numbers (similar to how Caroline @Caroleecrafts has been recording her stock destash). It has a similar objective to no-buy, but has a nice enviromental angle too.
Gifts do not count Hilary xx
Will do a ‘Shop Your Stash’ in May
When I get home I will take a pic to share x
How about a ‘shop your stash or Folksy sellers May.
We could list our stash we want to sell in our shops, link to here and may sell some of stashes.
I have also lost all interest Caroline … More than ever I am considering selling stock, can’t see me using all the fabrics I have recently bought.
I might bypass Folksy when I sell mine.
I know Debby. The only thing I would say is selling to bother Folksy seller could be easier.
Very true but will see how this week pans out Caroline x
Oh no, I think I just fell at the last hurdle
. I’ve been waiting for a crafting magazine subscription to come back into stock, which it has, so I’ve just ordered it without thinking urgh. Sorry everyone.
I think the idea of a destash May is a great idea.

Hi Lynne, here he is, there is quite a bit of work to be done on him, I will empty and dismantle him completely to wash before I start on any repairs. His little jacket is full of small holes and tears and looks to have been nibbled so I wonder whether he has been sat in an attic somewhere with a little mouse visitor. I have just taken his jacket off and gently handwashed, hope it doesn’t fall apart. I won’t repair all of the holes will just patch some of the larger ones.
