On holiday I'm making

Do you take any crafts with you on holiday? If so, what?

Im away and have taken my sewing machine because the weather was forecasted as being bad. Ive not used it yet but still have a week of-uncertain weather. I do have a book too :grinning: in our caravan so easy to pack.

I usually take a sketchbook and some crochet when I go away. I like having the choice

Hubby and I go cycle touring for three weeks, camping in a tiny tent and carrying everything in panniers on our bikes. And I still take mu knitting without fail!

I always take my sketchbook. Here’s one I did last week on a punt in Cambridge. Well, the sketch was done on the punt, but then it was my turn to do the punting so watercolour was added later.

My holidays are a time for socialising and exploring new places. I have a weird hate of people watching me work (I find it distracting and always mess up  no demonstrating for me), so unless I know there’s a chance I’ll have hours on my own, I leave the sketchbook at home and just play with my camera instead.

I always take crochet and knitting with me. The crochet is for when I’m sitting in the sun and the knitting for on an evening. A few weeks ago I only took crochet and miscalculated on the amount of yarn and was stuck by the end of the first week - I won’t do that again in a hurry!!:rofl::rofl:

I’m with you Kim on not being able to work with people watching, can’t imagine how much paper I’d waste.

As I am a cruise addict, I cannot take my sewing machine with me, especially on a fly cruise, it would be really useful on the sea days. So I usually take a piece of embroidery. Stitching whilst sailing in the Caribbean Seas, my idea of heaven.

Yes, I take my knitting. One baby matinee coat was knitted in Yorkshire, two knitted in Cornwall and quite a few in Scotland. Plus a number knitted in the car on the way to holidays.
