I used to include a paper receipt, but it seems a waste of paper when the customer has one online…
I’m of the same opinion these days although I usually put in a business card or a thank you card.
I normally write a thank you note on the bottom of the receipt so I don’t have to find something separate to write the note on. If an order is for multiple items then the receipt can double up as a packing list for you to make sure you’ve put everything in and for them to unpack against to make sure they have received everything.
(whilst probably not applicable to you, for shops selling anything that could be considered a supply please include a receipt - people need those for their records/ tax return if they are making a business purchase)
@coatimundi I normally do but I am like you and I think it is a waste of time as I usually put a compliments slip in with my business details on anyway. I recently bought something and the seller didn’t put one in and that got me thinking that maybe I won’t include one in the future.
I always include a business card so they know who it’s from
Thanks for all your replies - they were really helpful. I think in future I will just include my thank you card with message.
