Hi, just achieved my first sale!
I’m wondering if there is an official packing slip / receipt that I’m supposed to include - if there is I can’t find it! so could somebody point me in the right direction please. Or does everyone just write their own note?
Would be grateful for some advice please.
Thanks Wendy
Congratulations. Go to orders in your dashboard, click on “visit this order”, you’ll then see a “print receipt” button to click.
wow, thank you, easy when you know how!!! I’m still trying to find my way round and as this is my first order I was a bit uncertain. Many thanks once again, that’s another lesson learned, Wendy x
You’re welcome
That’s handy, but wouldn’t it be great if we could save it as a word document and then edit it to include our shop logo and any other appreciation message we wish to communicate with the customer… only option I can see is to go straight to printer as it is. Just a point.
I make my own compliment slips with some social media info and the like, and write a little note on that. It’s prettier than a bog standard packing slip and there’s a record of what the customer bought on both our accounts, so I’ve not felt the need to add more paperwork. A lot of my stuff is gifted, as well, so I’m hesitant to include the price on the packing slip as I don’t always know who’s opening it! Maybe I should add product info as a sticky note that can be removed, or something.
Thanks for your help. I did find and print the packing slip but as you say it is a bit plain and impersonal. I added a hand written note at the bottom of the slip just to thank her for her purchase. I will look into doing something more personal while I wait for the next sale !!
I have recently made a flyer to include in any sales. On one side it has Thankyou written on my banner and logo with a space to put a handwritten note, then on the other side are care instructions. I got the idea from a friend who is very successful on ‘the other place’. She does a lot of eco friendly packing too, but I keep all that quite simple still! Having said that, I am considering going for boxes with my logo on. Have many of you done that? Do you think it is worth the extra cost?
I use Green Jiffy Bags and stamp my website onto it by hand. Bit of a process when you buy 200 bags but cheaper than getting a box printed specifically. There are ways to do it cheaply that still help your brand to stand out.
There’s no slip you have to include, you can use the one from Folksy, make your own or have none at all.
Personally I go for the option of none, because I know when I get them they just go straight in the (recycling) bin so it just feels like a waste of paper when the buyer will have a record of it on their account and emailed to them (and if they still want one from me then they can contact me). I just include my business card with a little handwritten thank you.
I have printed a supply of A5 sheets with a small design and my logo on the bottom left-hand corner. I can then print the Folksy order slip on top of that as it is normally a blank space.
Great idea, thank you
I have printed some Compliments Slips with logo & links on, and space for a personal, hand-written thank-you message. I expect that to go in the bin once it’s been read. I also enclose a business card with full social media and other links - hopefully if they like the items they’ve bought they’ll hand on to that
I found I could save it as a pdf using my phone or iPad. Then I can attach it to an email. Most people are happy with this as it saves unnecessary paper waste and is easier because I don’t have a printer at home.
If it was a paypal transaction, there will be a ‘packing slip’ to print off on your paypal login transaction details
Dont know abot stripe
I got it all sorted, but thank you for your help.
I use premade black boxes and have now got stickers with my logo on. I will be putting the sticker on the top of the box.
I also have made my own thank you note with my logo and information.

That is what I have done, too, Sarah. However, I have just bought some natural brown boxes and am awaiting a stamp with my logo on, so I will see how that goes. I am pleased with my recent thankyou note that my daughter designed for me. I know it will go in the bin but I feel it is a nice touch.
