Hello, I hope this has gone into the right area…when resizing photos, does it HAVE to be bang on 700 pixels or can I go a little bigger, just to fit things in? It also says on the guidelines that photos can be up to 25Mb ? Sorry, bit confused on sizes…can anyone make it a bit clearer please?

Don’t quite understand that '‘fit things in’ if you can’t fit all your pendant in the picture take it from further away. The photo size has nothing to do with the content of your picture, it determines its resolution and therefore size as help on the computer / server.
I do not touch the photo size apart from taking a square photo 1:1 instead of the normal rectangle one. The iPhone does the rest. Never had a problem with Folksy adjusting the heic image to avif.
I’ve been using the standard computer software to move the image and resize. I think it will be ok. I’m learning. Thanks for replying 
Ok, thanks. I think I need to know a bit more about my other half’s camera. It’s one of them DSL thingys which I know absolutely nothing about!
As Joy said when you take your photos make sure you are far enough away to be able to crop them without losing bits.
You can crop them to square and adjust the lighting when adding the new listing on Folksy if you struggle to do it with your camera.
If you’re using computer editing software like PhotShop, when using the crop tool, you can set the crop size to 700 x 700 pixels at 96 dpi, so you get a square photo at 700 x700 pixels. You should then get all your stuff in.You don’t need the resolution to be bigger than 96, as screens on computer / mobile devices cannot show anything bigger that that.
