Looks like I’m gonna have to rough my work up a bit to get noticed, obviously polished wood is not too cool on Folksy
Your jewellery boxes are beautiful and worthy of a front page place
Your boxes are gorgeous, I’d love to have one of those and did consider it a while back, but sadly they are out of my price range. They’d look brilliant on the front page
@norfolkwoodcrafts Your boxes are just stunning I just wish I had the money to buy one.
Have you thought about having a cheaper range as well?
Don’t change a thing! I love polished wood, it’s so beautiful and tactile. There are plenty of other people doing rough wood - be different
your boxes are beautiful, you just need to find the right people to buy.
They’re lovely, I’m particularly taken with the walnut jewellery box.
How about making a couple of smaller, simpler boxes (or other items) which could perhaps be a little cheaper, it might be good to have more of a range of prices.
Thankyou all for your kind remarks, although I didn’t start this thread to get compliments it is still very nice to read them and I take on board what you say about the price. My prices do range from £75 to about £200 and to make a smaller box would take nearly the same time ,its just less timber, something I have an abundance of having collected it over many years, but i will look into making a cheaper box.
I started this thread as a moan to Folksy really, just one little picture on a front page every 2 months would help, but as pointed out by many people they have their favourites and they feature week in and week out and they stick to them, and if your face or box don’t fit,you don’t get a look in. Perhaps the wood that my boxes are made of will start to root soon and will look cooler.

Your boxes are beautiful… but I have a feeling that you might have to bring in your own buyers, if you know what I mean… judging by the 2014 charts the average spend on the site is really low!
Speaking as someone selling supplies I would be really grateful if Folksy noticed us at all…!
As said by others your boxes are beautiful. I would love to see your workshop on the top of the front page, as the front page doesn’t seem to have changed in quite a while, its just the same people featured, Surely with so many designers/makers, the shops featured on the front page (when you are not signed in) could feature some new people. Thankyou Ali,you are probably right about buyers, the alternative is to find another site where the buyers are more likely to be,having said that I have had 24 on here in the past but over a period of time which proves that people will buy them on here. Couldn’t see what the average spend was.
Thanks Marg, not sure how to get my workshop on the front page, but it would be good. It would also be good to know how often each of the top sellers were featured by Folksy over a year.
I am thinking of diversifying into the ukelele trade I have just made the prototype which if you are interested you can see on Norfolkwoodcrafts facebook page, but won’t be able to sell them on here.
