Problems setting up Folksy plus monthly payment

I’m hoping someone here can help. I am trying to set up the monthly payment account which I cannot find a link to. The link on the left hand side of the dashboard does not work. I already tried to set it up last week and ended up paying £75 by direct debit which is not what I want. I have received a refund. The link only tells me that I have set up a direct debit and my next payment will be taken in June 2024 with no option for monthly payments.

You are going to have to email support@folksy.com for this one - it sounds like the system still thinks you have the annual plus account which is why you can’t set up the monthly one. When I look at your shop front it indicates that you have a plus account, the system might not expire your plus account until the end of the month so you might not be able to set up the monthly one until that has happened. Check your bank account and make sure that the annual direct debit has been cancelled at your end as well.

I had to get in touch with Folksy troubleshooting as my bank wasn’t registered with their payment app when I tried to set up a direct debit.
I was gutted at first as I thought this would mean I couldn’t activate a plus account.
I got in touch and within a couple of days they had sent me a form to fill in & everything was set up and organised.
So far I’ve had no issues with any payments going out so all seems to be running smoothly :+1:
I’m sure if you send a message explaining the issues you’ve had they’ll be able to do the same for you, good luck

Folksy are pretty helpful when you email about a problem, I’m sure folksy support could sort this out for you. I’ve just looked at your shop and had to come and say that your work is beautiful

I had trouble with this. But Folksy support sorted it in the end. But it’s very frustrating.

I’ve emailed Folksy, just waiting to hear from them. It’s such a pain that you can’t set this up yourself. Thanks for your help.

I don’t know why I can’t just set this up. They’re very keen for everyone to pay £75 up front though as that’s the only way available. Hopefully they’ll get in touch soon.

The monthly payment is set up from the same place that you set up the annual payment, you just need to switch the time period by clicking here before you click “get started”

It seems a few people have been confused by this and think they can only sign up to a yearly payment though, so we might need to look into what we can do to make this button clearer.

In normal cases it should be something that a seller can set up themselves, however as you’d previously set up a Plus account which hadn’t expired yet, this needed clearing before the option to sign up would show again. If anyone is having problems setting up Plus, just send a message to support explaining your problem and we’ll get you sorted.
