Puzzled Help!

Hi I am really puzzled. I have just had notification of a sale in an email. It has the customers address which looks authentic. I have checked paypal and there is no payment in my account from this person, also there is no order in my Folksy dashboard? Is this a very sophisticated spam? What puzzles me is that the full name and address of the lady is in the body of the email.

Does the thing it says you sold show first on your Sold items
And how does it say they paid … sales emails always say how they paid … I see you take Stripe as well as PayPal

If the email is not the same format as your other sales emails then I would forward it to a urgent folksy

It says paypal, checked paypal nothing paid into that account and nothing on my orders in folksy so must be a scam. I’ll forward it, I noticed there were a few comments from members about scam emails, this must be the latest type

Is the email from “The Folksy Team” with address noreply@folksy.com?
The subject should also be “Congratulations! You made a sale on Folksy” followed by a page very similar to the one you would see in your orders. The table with the item and the details.
I find it a bit dodgy to have the email without the actual order showing on Folksy, but I might be wrong.

The email was supposedly from Paypal, it is definitely a scam so it’s a heads up. I thought maybe there was a delay but of course it has never happened before so it’s obviously not genuine. I’m not sure if this a paypal issue or a folksy issue.

yes I didn’t get one from Folksy so it’s definitely a scam. It came from ‘paypal’ what threw me was the name and address.

Paypal ask that you forward any suspicious emails claiming to be from them to phishing@paypal.com this allows them to investigate and shut down the imposters.

(it might be someone chancing their luck and hoping that you will ship out the order without double checking that you’ve either received payment / got sales confirmation from Folksy hence the full name and address in the email)

Yes I certainly will forward it on to them, I’m guessing this is a paypal issue rather than a folksy one, I know there have been a few scams lately
