Quirky rules that you live by

Hi everyone, just a light-hearted thread to talk about any quirky rules that you or your family members (and pets!) live by! :blush:

Personally, whenever I’m driving through built-up areas like town centres, I have the radio on; when I’m driving out of town, I switch to whatever CD is on in the CD player. There’s no deep reason for that, it’s more habit than anything else.

Well this is a weird thing my best friend does, if she sees an ambulance with the back door open (she’s a radiographer at a hospital :joy:) she has to hold her collar until she sees a 4 legged animal. Once we passed an incident we saw 3 ambulances with the doors open and she was beside herself as she ran out of hands, luckily I was driving :joy:

Well, I had that since I was a kid and still go by it. I do NOT mix my pasta with the sauce. Whatever sauce. Pasta at the bottom, then sauce, then cheese. They stay in that order, nice and neat until I’m finished. You mix it, you eat it, I leave it :spaghetti:

I have a strange thing with labels ! When I go to bed if there are clothes hanging in our room or in the top of the laundry bin I can’t bear to see a white label.
If I notice one I have to get out of bed and cover it or move the clothing !
Don’t know why it’s just how it is lol

OK, first quirky one here.

I wear two watches. The first one I have had since 2000, it looks like a piece of nice jewellery, I love it so much and can’t get stop wearing it.
The other is an Apple Watch that my partner bought for me. I like it, it is pretty, so I wear both.

Not sure if that is quirky or just strange :slight_smile:

My husband often wears two watches, a “jewellery” type traditional one I bought him many years ago, and a fitbit. I think probably lots of people do.

and for those who like me have earworm (repetitive songs going around in my head ) …It has been “away in a manger” for the last 4 years BUT if it changes then there is a message of some sort in the new song and as soon as I find what the message IS, it goes back to "away in a Manger…
AND I cannot stop in the middle of the song, no matter what I am doing I have to go right to the end.
PLUS…I “count”
I use one hand ( 5 fingers) and I tap out the rhythm of a random song…usually a word per finger..1.2.3.4.5…1.2.3.4.5 and the finger that the last note or word finishes on is OUT..( eg finger 3 )…so then it is 1.2.4.5…1.2.4.5…
repeated until only 1 finger remains…that finger is the winner…and I get cross sometimes if it isn’t my favourite finger number 4.
Not content with that…I then do the same song…with fingers…1.2.3.4.5.4.3.2.1…1.2.3.4.5.4.3.2.1
AND if I lose count…I have to start at the beginning again…
And you lot thought that YOU had problems…ha ha ha
