Scammer alert

Just a heads up to any new sellers that haven’t come across these scammers before.
They email enquiring about purchasing one of your most expensive items, but want you to reply to them direct.
Do not fall for it and reply to them, as that way they get your email address. I have just been sent this one through Folksy.
The emails are usually very similar to this.
Hello seller,

How are you doing over there? Am Gabriel by name,I saw your item posted in here and am ready for immediate purchase of the item, but before i proceed with the payment i will like to ask you some questions about the
item:
1)Is the Item still available for sales?
2)Are you the real owner of the item and what is the present condition of the item?
3)Do you accept PayPal as your mode of payment and how much is the final asking price ?
Please kindly get back to me on my private email for fast communication:

All the more reason to have a pm facility on the actual shop. I’m not sure there is one on Folksy.

Hi ya, you can contact a shop directly via Folksy, from the Contact button at the top of the main shop page.

Cheers Lou

When you use this it shares your email.

We used to have an internal messaging system within Folksy, but it was disposed of a few years back. I believe it slowed the site down massively. (But could be wrong)
The scammers were just as prevalent then.
