SEO titles or tags or social

Hi all I am new to Folksy and wondering what is the best SEO for there pages. Is the most important part the title or the 15 tags or something else. Every site has its own specifics or would I be better setting up extra social media specific to the Folksy site.

I have no sales yet with only 12 items and do not expect any traction until I have at least 50 to 100 items but would be great to get some direction from those that have been here a while and understand Folksy. P.S have a site on the darkside and hate its ways but have to live with it for now.

Thank you Richard https://folksy.com/shops/CumbrianDesigns

Good morning Richard, I love the items in your shop, can’t help much with SEO I’m afraid, but there are some past threads that have lots of info and there are a few tips etc on the Folksy blog https://blog.folksy.com/?s=seo
I’m not very good at social media, I do have a fb business page and blog but don’t use it as often as I should, there are lots of knowledgeable peeps on here and hopefully someone will be along shortly

Hi Richard. The search results on Folksy work on a kind of points system, which considers title, tags, category, subcategory, description, section and shop name, as well as whether the item has been featured on Folksy (eg, in a gift guide or in our favourites). When a customer searches for a particular word or phrase on Folksy, the algorithm will give each listing a score depending on the whether that word or phrase appears in those places and the weighting given to each. An item’s score determines where it is shown in the list of results. The aim is always to give a customer the best results possible.

If an item gets the same score as another item, the item that has been listed more recently will be shown first. So if you want your items to rank nearer the top on Folksy, be as active as possible and list regularly.

It’s also worth knowing that the title has more weight than the other factors – in other words, the title is the most important factor for search results.
