Shipping location enquiry

I’ve just logged into Folksy and there’s a notification saying that a buyer has asked if I can ship internationally.

The email from Folksy says the buyer is in the UK and I should add it if I can ship there.

I’ve already set up shipping for the UK, it’s the only location I ship to.
Anyone else had anything like this?

I’ve had requests for outside the UK but not for within it… if you’re sure your shipping settings on the item are OK, drop Support a message and ask them to look into it, there may be a glitch somewhere!
ETA I just looked at your item and it shows shipping to the UK, so unless the buyer has just mis-read it I can’t see what would have gone wrong!

There is also this thread which might shed some light - was the potential customer looking at an out-of-stock version of your item?

Thanks, I’ve just emailed support.

It’s an active listing. I’ve emailed support to see if they can help.

Im wondering if this is a glitch to do with Northern Ireland - technically part of the UK but because of gpsr its being treated as not part of the uk. Im sure support will clear it up.

I am thinking it maybe Northern Ireland. Poor folk in NI are part of the UK but are grouped as EU. So to post to NI you need the name and address of someone who can vouch for you. I need to find out more as I don’t
understand it. Speaking to someone who wanted something posted to NI , I had to say no sadly.

Hiya Deborah @coolforglass it’s an official representative that is needed, and you need to ensure your products conform to the levels set out in the new EU GPSR, not just the safety regs we are already using in the rest of the UK.

Folksy have written a blog to help us understand it and how it impacts on selling to NI.

It’s a shame if it is from Northern Ireland. Brexit strikes again!
I haven’t had any other messages, so for now I guess I’ll just leave it.
