Minerva: I do not pay much attention to statistics on a day to day basis. However when I would spend lots of time on here tweaking things, playing with titles and descriptions so I would get found easier, I would check my stats to see if it worked. To then see I had 100 views or so the next day I was happy, because I thought I nailed it. Only to later find out that was me. The stats on Folksy still count my views, which I do not understand the point of. I check Google stats about once a week/ biweekly and since the new search I can not see a difference.
I have to say I find the figures pretty irrelevant, to my shop anyway. I am far more interested in my sales figures. I rarely check the views data as it never correlates with my sales data.
I have found that since the improvements to search my dog collars are not findable until the second page, donāt know how this stuff is figured out, but I am selling more cat collars so canāt complain.
I agree with @JOYSofGLASS my viewing figures never correlate with sales. Usually the opposite. I have had a spike in views when my work has been featured though and sales from that. Generally though the general trend for me on here is down. Since the site changed from old folksy my sales have gone down down down and now its just a trickle. I think its down to search. I used to average 2 sales a week now I am lucky to get one a month.
Sales elsewhere however are increasing.
My views seem to be down quite a lot. I did have a spike on some seed beads I had for sale for some reason but that was just a flash in the pan I think.
And the funny thing is I am not doing anything different apart from I did on all the advice here start tweeting and get a facebook page. So I am promoting more but my sales on Folksy are at an all time low. All I can think is that its down to search. Ceramics and Pottery used to have its own category but now its spread all over the place. There is a ceramic section in art but when people are looking for bowls and Jugs they arent going to look in the art section. I still think ceramics and pottery should have its own category, It is recognised in the contemporary craft world as such. But I think thats where Folksy lost it for me
Just changing the subject, I absolutely love your fox cushions
Since we have had this new forum, i have had a nice steady flow of sales. And really chuffed to say i have made it to the 70 sales mark. My next mission is to get on the top sellers list - even if it is only for a day lol
Congratulations on your 70th sale. Thatās fantastic news
I have good and bad days with views, but I donāt dwell on the bad days
Iām really chuffed to have reached my 7th sale this week so my target is 10 before Xmas
I do love it here on Folksy though, and every sale has been a tremendous buzz and confidence boost.
The best of luck to you reaching your next goal xx
