Sign the Royal Mail petition

I’m so fed up with the hikes in prices by Royal Mail - what used to just happen every spring now happens whenever they fancy, yet their service seems to get worse plus they’re talking about cutting back on 2nd class post deliveries to just 2 or 3 days a week. RM used to be the service you could rely on - but these days they seem to be getting more unreliable with every passing week.

There’s a petition on the Parliament website: Require parliamentary scrutiny of any proposal to amend the Royal Mail USO - I’ve signed it, and if you fancy signing too here’s the link:

Signed. Before long postage is going to be more than some of our makes :pensive:

Royal mail are doing their best to kill off my business. As you say stamps costing more than what I sell. A lot of my cards are just £1.25 and I have to charge £1.60 for P&P as I need them in a board backed envelope… People will just stop sending cards…sad but true @itsatwinthing

Well I found out about the petition when I got an email from a little company that sells cards saying the exact same thing - their rates are monstrous these days, and they seem to be able to put them up whenever they want and then cut back on their service levels with nothing to answer. :angry:

Ive signed! Totally agree with all of the comments on this thread. Each time Royal Mail prices are increased so do my late deliveries and I have also noticed that damaged items are on the increase too. Despite paying for the correct postage Royal Mail are increasingly putting my items through the wrong machine which basically chews my orders up. I despair!

I have signed the petition, I think we can all agree that its all getting a bit much with everything regarding price hikes, and the PO is making everyone either push up the price of their items or charge more for the postage, I could not believe it when I purchased a book of stamps to send christmas cards off this time round. I was literally speechless. I could not afford to buy the lovely christmas stamps and had to purchase standard 2nd class stamps. Very sad really.

Oh don’t even get me started on the RM claims process - it takes forever, you have to jump through hoops, and in my experience you have to stay completely on it and be ready to chase them because otherwise your claim gets ignored. So many times when they’ve owed me a refund I’ve just given up because I’ve not had the time or the will to keep chasing. No doubt they do this to help profit margins.

If they had a real competitor on the scene for most of their services they would never survive! So sad to see such a historial business being treated like this :angry:

@PhotoFairytales
There are competitors but they are just as bad Ev…, Ama… cant tell you how many parcels have allegedly been delivered… :rage:

And they send the refund in stamps which you’ll never be able to use up.

I have luckily never had many problems with Ev (touch wood) but now also use the new Royal Mail Track 24 or 48 for larger parcels.
