I like your idea Katrina. I will keep my fundraising going as long as necessary, but it might be nice to make the feature a bit more all-encompassing now.
As a team we’ve already discussed expanding this to a general area for all items donating to charity (and when we first introduced the section it was always our intention to eventually expand this) but as we currently have a lot of work to do with SEO, unfortunately it may not be something we’re able to change just yet as we need to prioritise the SEO work.
Would it be possible to just make a couple of changes to the existing function? So instead of the tag being “stand with ukraine” have it as “charity item”, and change the section heading to “Supporting Charities”, leaving the rest of the code as it is.
Can @folksycontent please prioritise the downgrading of the Ukraine section on the front page. I know I am only one person but it seriously hurts my eyes to see it every day! To me, it’s wrong on so many levels. Why Ukraine? What about all the other wars going on? A war typically has two sides, so why directly alienate one side & potentially turn business away? By all means switch it to a general supporting charities section but at the moment it’s totally off-putting. Sorry - rant over!
I have a suggestion. The Ukraine feature has run its course and customers must, to be honest, wonder why it is still there. I know the war is still there but there are lots of things in the feature which are tagged but with nothing else to support the supposed donation at all. We did ask months ago for this at least to be changed to cover All charities so at the very least that would just need a Title change
But.
Why not just replace it for a month or so with a Fringe Exhibition. Just include all Fringe listing selections randomly displayed as for other such features. Would make a lovely new space for customers to visit.
I don’t see the Folksy Fringe sellection on the first page…have it missed it? It would be nice if that is included as well, if it’s possible…
It is there now and with an obvious link to both which is much better ,
@folksycontent just come via the front page and once again the ’ Stand with Ukraine ’ feature jumps out.
There are currently just 251 tagged listings. The display I got was this
All four listings from one shop because there are so few to choose from. Sorry but really isn’t it time you did something about it. It is actually unfair to the other 3500 shops on here that it continues to be so prominentluy and permanently featured and can be doing nothing at all to add to the front page appeal.
