I agree with your thinking but spending out more money by opening another shop elsewhere or have my own website is possibly going to be a waste of time and money for me just to be hopefully seen. People don’t spend out on treats like your gorgeous bears and my jewellery when money gets a little tight, or uncertainty in their future. They don’t spend out on unique quality baby knitwear either. Like you i have spent out over £85,000.00 on gemstones, silver, gold and yarns for my business. I don’t think i will ever get my money back in my lifetime now.
I have tried to search for your shop using the new search Folksy have introduced and it didn’t come up. All it showed was products with the wording pearl or pearlescent! What on earth are they playing at!!!
I think as members we need to make it quite clear it’s not good enough and is doing more damage than good for their sellers.
GOOD NEWS Trumb has just paused ‘reciprocal’ tariffs on high tariff rates for 90 days on some countries, except China which has just risen to 125% tariff. Perhaps he’s realised the damage he is doing to the world trading markets!
My stats are frozen too and I’m finding it a pain as my shop is pretty new and just started pushing on social media and having that info would be so helpful. Is it bad that I feel a bit fed up and wondering if I made the right choice of site.

I have never considered leaving Folksy before but this past week I have got more worked up every day.
Going back to the reply on the forum last week from Folksy saying the new search doesn’t work in the same way as the last…it doesn’t work full stop.
If I want a rabbit i am going to search for a rabbit what else will i type in ? but what i am going to find is 7 pages…

So i sell rabbits, and letterbox rabbits yet not one showed up.
The results for bears are similar
The results for dolls…no show
Type pincushions into search and there are no results it has to go as pin cushions
Try using the shop search and I think my shop showed for bears, dolls and letterbox gifts, they only actually show one page of results, but type in my other items and no i didnt show.

The stats don’t work but actually there won’t be any results because nobody has found any items. It should not have been rolled out until it was tested and it clearly hasn’t been tested because very single seller that has gone on to comment is upset by it.
It’s great for those shops whose items have come up in searches because they havn’t changed for days.
We all pay the same fees and so every single seller should be shown in all searches that are relevant.
If my items don’t show in searches and now my shop name doesn’t work either I might as well close my shop because how the heck will anyone find it and this is suppose to be a better search system for us.
I understand what you are saying about spending money at the minute by having another shop and do agree it miģht not make a huge difference as we do sell high end luxury items which are the first to go when the purse needs tightening but unless things change very quickly on here it’s either that or retire.

If you type bear in the shop search, it will still come up. BUT. If you type bearl or bearle or bearles it will not. It will appear again if you put bearlesc, or bearlesce, it will not appear if you put bearlescen… that is an absolute mess! From my personal experience, people very often ended up in my shop by searching half words, and my name seems to still be working fine (luckily?). But i’m not sure how many customers will be willing to waste all their time here trying to find the unfindable…
I put ‘stuffed rabbit’ and ‘rabbit doll’ in and you showed up along with one of your foxes! The same for me when I put yellow daisies instead of just daisies where I didn’t show at all. Let’s hope potential customers are descriptive in their search terms!!
That’s good to know Sarah thank you but customers are not going to be descriptive, they will search for a rabbit or a daisy not stuffed or yellow.

Your daisy should have come up if you asked for daisy same with the rabbit.
If we have to be descriptive with searches we might as well not bother as we can’t second guess every senario and I am pretty certain customers won’t.

I have been were you are so many times selling with Folksy.com. i am starting a new thread to see just how many sellers hate the search engine. Kerp your chin up, the New York stock exchange is doing very well now and fully recovered, but those who have lost a lot of money will never forget or forgive him. I suppose the world will get used to this narcissist and hopefully trillions will not be lost by innocent people. The markets need to stop reacting to him throwing his toys out of the pram, and i don’t think he will get away with throwing a simular stunt in the future. Only three more years of this dreadful man to endure!
3 years is a hell of a long time …I have absolutely no idea how such a moron is one of the most powerful men on this planet..what a scary world we live in. Yes - just an acknowledgement and confirmation that they’d look into it. Kim did post on another thread that they were aware and their techs are working on it.
Sorry about that everyone. Yes the stats are (mostly) back up now, and although some exact search information at shop level is still missing, that should be fixed and start to populate again soon.
We know it’s really bad timing as you’ll particularly want to see how the search has been doing.
Although I can’t give you all your exact details for your shops, we have been keeping an eye on the general search stats and despite the issues, we haven’t seen a worrying drop.
I wish I could say the same Kim, I’ve seen a worrying drop! To be fair I have had one sale, first in months, but can only assume that was because it was lucky enough (thank you to whoever chose it) to be chosen as a folksy favourite, so was on the front page quite a bit.
There might not be a drop because some of the folksy sellers have been testing a lot of searches that we wouldn’t normally have done, a lot of those might not be when we are logged in because we drop out everytime we leave the site and have to keep logging in again.
