Sticky varnish problems! Can anyone help please?

I’ve made a few more polymer clay owl and pussycats, and painted them with acrylics. Now I want to protect them with a layer of varnish but don’t know what to use. I tried Fimo varnish last time, but it stayed tacky so pretty much spoilt the whole batch. I’ve also tried Diamond Glaze, which feels tacky even though things don’t actually stick to it.
Can anyone suggest anything I can use with confidence that it will completely dry? Thanks so much!

I’ve used this over acrylic paints, so far all seems fine. https://buddlycrafts.com/shop/product-29839/viva-decor-premium-clear-coat-varnish-/?v=29840
There is alsa DecoArt product called Triple thick, it is a bit thicker, but you can carefully thin it out with water.

Christine, this site has a lot of useful info regarding varnishes and glazes etc. I found it invaluable when I started with clay x
