Tag List Updates

I am a very new entrant to Folksy so please forgive me if this is something everybody already knows all about. I make little boxes from card and paper and so many of them are very similar and use the same list of tags. I know you can copy the whole listing but I needed to revamp the tags and it looked as though I was going to have to manually type in every individual tag to each listing. So I tried a few things and the following seems to work well.
You first of all create a list of tags, each one separated by a comma, in an external text processor - it doesn’t seem to matter which one. Then you copy and paste it into the tags line on Folksy. It looks like it has only pasted the last few characters but if you press thge Tab key the list is displayed as if it’s all in one single tag. However, if you press the Update key to save the changes, the system resolves the single list into each of the different tags. If you are doing a lot, you still need to bring up the Listings from the Dashboard but at least you don’t have to manually type in each tag again. But as I say, you probably knew that.

That’s very helpful Chris, thank you, I didn’t know you could do that!

I didn’t know that either! and have always been slightly annoyed with typing them all in, so thank you

That’s a really useful tip, thank you. I’ve got as far as ending up with what looks like one really long tag, but never thought to see what happens if you then press Update!

You live and learn…

Thank you for a very useful tip, that’s really good to know!

Glad you find it useful Helen. I just got fed up of retyping every tag and thought there has to be a better way than this.

Thanks for the info, i too didnt know this, i tried creating a list but as it didnt look right i deleted it instead of updating… Will try again.

Well done you. I didn’t know this either and have doggedly been putting them in by hand. They do say not all tags should be identical do leave a space for adding something unique
