To stripe or not to stripe?

I did have to send photo ID but not straight away so if you are in the process of getting your passport renewed at the moment then you should have it back by the time they ask you for ID. A photo drivers license is also acceptable if you have one of those.

Well I have gone head & set it upā€¦it says Iā€™m ā€˜activeā€™ and ā€˜verifiedā€™ so fingers crossed.Just need someone to buy something now to test it !

Why donā€™t you buy sonething from yourself. By far the quickest and simplest way to check it all works. Just list a test Ā£1 product with foc postage and buy it. It will only cost you pennies.

Oh great after getting my photoid for voting which I hoped could use on Stripe, they have changed the rules and now only accept driving licence and passports!

The world is turning against anyone over 60!

The problem this means stuck on Folksy as all the other UK sites use Stripe! Perhaps retirement is due not sure what I will do all day, just eat chocolate

The thing that annoys me is I have a business bank account and as pointed out by my bank if they were a UK institution there would not be a problem as they can see where you bank and what kind of account you hold. They all talk to each other electronically.

Currently come up against the same problem now. I have no photo ID but in order to get photo ID like citizencard you need a photo ID, if you donā€™t know someone who fits into their referee check list. :roll_eyes:

Quite a lot of places use stripe including the American company I sell with rebelsmarket sell my goth items over there.
Never thought of selling them here thoughā€‹:rofl::rofl:
Anyway stripe are supposedly owned by a certain country which does not exist Iā€™m not happy with using it either.
Was meant to be getting a passport this year but havenā€™t as yet as mum is getting nearer to the end stage of her dementia.

Exactly but if British like SumUp they have access through the general banking systems that you are who you say you are.

Know a lot of US Ladies that never did get their sales money on other platforms from them, hence would avoid like the plaque.

I think as Folksy champion British Craft they should move to a British based card system.

PS. My bank manger said Stripe are a shower!
