Morning Folksy Family,

Can you please let me know if you offer the swipe option so payments can be made by card? I have not made any sales so still fairly new and do not want to add to my cost.

Are payments by PayPal popular?

I offer Stripe and PayPal, they are equally popular.
Stripe works out slightly cheaper than PayPal.

Hi All,

Thank you for your replies. I do agree I should offer both, but don’t want to pay for stripe. Is the fee worth it, would it make a difference?

Hi Ruyi, there’s no fee for setting up Stripe, you pay per sale like PayPal. And I think that compared to Paypal, most sellers find that Stripe works out marginally cheaper.

However, your Stripe fee will look higher because your Folksy commission is taken out of the payment at the time of the sale.

It was a long time before I added Stripe to my shop, but now I am glad I did.

I’ve found that the majority of my customers choose to pay by Stripe through the Folksy shop so it’s worth setting up, and I’ve come across people who refuse to use PayPal for various reasons so it’s good to have something else set up for those people
