I spotted recently on another website, that you coud upload still photographs on a listing, but also short bits of footage. One showed someone actually making the item, which I thought was quite a good selling point. Is this something we can do on Folksy? If so, how?
On a separate note, I gave chatGPT a link to one of my listings, and asked how it could be improved, and it gave me a revised title, a list of tag words and reworded my description. Since making the amendments, that particular listing has had increased views coming from google, so it definitely did something… it’s a bit time consuming (as I have over 450 listings!) but I might pick my way through them to see if I can drive more traffic to my shop.
I’ve done the same with ChatGPT for some of my listings - especially on E*** and it certainly improved my visibility there. Also use it to write alternative descriptions so that I’m not using the same in more than one place. I’ve found that the more you do with it and the more you teach it your voice (or the voice you’d like to have!), the better it gets. I also told it a bit about Folksy’s style and ethos, which helped it get the voice right - it’s certainly moved on from the early days of preposterous superlatives and flowery language, but even more so once it understands you better and what you want, which you’ve hopefully also found too.
I asked ChatGPT what it thought about the video issue and the only thing it could suggest was trying to upload a GIF, but suspects that Folksy’s system either wouldn’t accept it to would strip out the animation.
