I know this has been mentioned before but I was wondering if there are any updates on whether Folksy will add the option of a 10 second video to listings?
As far as I’m concerned it’s the only advantage Etsy has over Folksy. For my products a video is far better than photos. In fact I’d give up all photos for one video.
Please tell me it’s planned for the near future.
I emailed Folksy yesterday about this apparently on their list of things they would like, no timescale. I initially asked about having a You Tube button on our shop fronts but think they were worried could direct people to dodgy videos.
I can understand why they wouldn’t want outside links, it’s open to dodgy stuff.
And I don’t think it would be of the same use as a video in the listing as it’s not right there in front of the customer. It’s equivalent to getting someone out of their car to come in to your shop, so much easier if they are already walking by.
I really hope they do it soon though as it’s the only thing putting me off investing my time into building a Folksy shop. I feel it’s a much better site than Etsy apart from that one thing.
Until they sort out the servers , where it been reported members can’t access the site or their dashboard, nearly ever week we see post on here and on Facebook that members can’t login in. Also the number of post about uploading a photo not working, imagine what it be like trying uploading a video
Apart from being directed to dodgy videos, people will definitely get distracted by YT recommendations and forget to come back to Folksy.
