Sounds scary Margaret!! I don’t like cows at all!
Hope you all enjoy your evenings, I’m planning an early night with a good book.

Just got on the computer and caught up with the thread!
It’s a bit late to comment individually, but you all sound as though you have had a busy time, whether holidaying, painting, visiting family or escaping from animals!
Glad the foxgloves arrived safely!
Thank you Stephie … last time I did a piece in this style I painted them separately and I don’t think they worked as well, as this was a mini I made one painting and cut it, but I did have a template of where the cuts would be so I could ensure that the subject crossed over and was inter-joined, and not end up looking like three individual pieces displayed together… great you have a large commission what is the subject going to be ?
Morning Everyone …
This is another of my new miniature poppies … 2,5 x 4 inches this one …
If they accept the price ( which isn’t insignificant) it will be of a beach in Cornwall. They do seem keen so far. I’ll have to paint then separately (but all at the same time for cohesion) as they are box canvases.
that sounds great Stephie, a beach scene would look great in this format … hope you get confirmation soon … will paint them in sections, all the skies etc etc … sounds like a nice fun challenge - let us know when you hear back and I do like seeing WIP photos
I have now listed the poppy miniature above and another one too on folksy …

morning all, fab poppies Hazel
that beach commission sounds brilliant Stephie, I do hope they go ahead with it. How wonderful to spend time painting beaches!
Morning Margaret - hope you have a good day and you get some nice things in the post
Morning everyone.
Your commission sounds fun Stephie, if you are not sure which way to divide them up could u ask the people which they prefer?
Lovely poppies Hazel, is it harder to do them small with wax.
Thanks for your comments on my blog, always much appreciated.
I have got the first open meeting of the neighbourhood gardening group coming to see my garden this pm. YIKES It’s very soggy out there and not very tidy, lots of roses out but they are drooping with the rain.
I am going to make them a cake and put together a slide show in case it’s raining this pm.

[/quote]That’s a good idea Tessa. Once they confirm I’ll have to send them a couple of alternative sketches of layout anyway as the panoramic view they’ve given me doesn’t fit perfectly into squares.
Yes I’ll have to paint all the skies together, all the sea together, all the sand together otherwise I might get the colour mixes wrong. I’l probably put them butt up together with a spacer inbetween if necessary to represent the gaps in the triptych, and then straight away fill in the sides of the canvases while I have the right colours in my palette. It will be a stimulating challenge!
yes it is Tessa … I like the challenge I use a finer nib on my stylus heat tool and have a steady hand lol
Sounds like a plan Stephie … do take some WIP pictures and blog about it won’t you I would love to see the process
Thanks Hazel, nothing in the post today, I’m off work tomorrow but I’ve asked the postman to look out for something from you and to keep it safe for me for Friday
First time that’s happened to me, I was typing my previous post and got a forum reminder that I’ve contributed 25% of the posts to this thread and maybe I could allow others more time to respond! Are they trying to say I talk too much?!
Just cut my finger cutting roses. Consoling with a rum truffle.
(Sorry Margaret, I haven’t posted the bulbs yet.)
Ouch, sounds painful.
That’s a bit cheeky Margaret!!
New from me.
Housework awaits, pop back later.
Maria x
No hurry at all for the bulbs Tessa, hope your cut finger doesn’t hurt too much.
That’s what I thought Maria, I was almost offended but realise it’s an automatic reminder, not a personal one, still felt a bit ruffled though! Cute little poppy, love the way it contrasts with the blue background.
Haha that happens to me A LOT!!!
It is a bit of a cheeky forum this lol
Told me off the other day too !!!
I’m back from the post office - it’s handy being in waitrose I had my free coffee and grabbed a bargain or two in my shopping I only wanted some fresh salad and came away with two bags of shopping !!!
I was going to have a play with my new pens I bought a couple of coloured water soluble ones by stabilo but not sure what to do with them now !!!
I’m sure that you’ll be inspired soon by your new pens, Hazel!
I hadn’t painted for days, but managed to finish an ACEO this afternoon!
That’s ever so pretty Pam.
