Yes I had a research job at University college London but I only stayed 10 weeks, it was not for me. I went on to teach biology at the Royal Ballet School then to a comprehensive school. Art was always there but I started studying when my sons were in junior school.
Your background is very different too Stephie.
Had a nice day out in Gloucester and the weather was lovely. No art shops, the only thing we found was a shop selling artwork by prisonersā¦interesting variety.
Gloucester is quite a long way for you isnāt it Brenda? I love that area, round the Cotswolds, but I donāt remember if I ever went into Gloucester.
Good Morning All
Hope the weather is nicer where you are today ā¦ grey and rain here today so no gardening for me!
I have a new blog post to write and some other things to do online for Art In wax so might have a computer day and some painting maybe
I have just listed my little wax ice cream cone ā¦
Pouring with rain here now ā¦
Hope you are all enjoying better weather
Iāve been making good use of my time, I have done a couple of blog posts, including one about a new video I have uploaded this morning to youtube.
When I was commissioned recently to make the videos for the Texans lol we made a third one in case they wanted something different and I have now edited and re-branded this one for my own youtube channel and this is the post about it if you would like to take a look

Morning Hazel. Sounds like youāve been busy, Iāll have a look at your video later.
The sun is shining here, wonder how long it will last?
Hereās my wild flower painting done from the train yesterday
Very pretty Stephie ā¦ enjoy the weather while you can
Lovely flowers Stephie.
Iām a bit dizzy this morning, all the paintings on the wall were swirling around instead of staying put like they should so I wasnāt fit to drive to church this morning. Thought Iād have a quick log in and see if the letters on the screen would stay put long enough for me to read them!
Sorry to hear you are not feeling your best. Hope you feel better soon Margaret
Oh dear, not the start of a migraine I hope. Take care and take it easy today.
I hope you are OK Margaret and can have a restful day x
Margaret, it was a day coach tripā¦I doubt if I would drive that far myself. I donāt mind the driving, but I hate cities and towns and trying to find somewhere to parkā¦apart from which , when travelling on a coach , I actually get to see all the lovely scenery and not just the road in front of me (or behind me).
There was only one nice craft shop that was selling paintings but I was extremely disappointed that they were all prints !
Apart from that, was the art shop selling the work of prisoners. Not much of it was any good but I appreciated that from any that sold 40% was going to Victim Support.
Hope you feel better soon.
Afternoon all.
It Gloucester pretty Brenda? Iāve never been.
I like the idea of a good chunk of the prisonersā sales going to victim support. There should be more of that going on.
Some artists near me advertise their work as Art for Macmillan, but only 10% goes to the charity. I think that is a bit off personally, I think it should be much higher.
Margaret did you get your folksy sharing badge after the fun we had last night over on fb?
Yes thanks, it appeared this morning, along with the one for reading the FAQs
The dizziness has settled down now, thankfully, but havenāt felt like painting so have had a very restful day. Thanks for all the well wishes.
My brother David and his wife came to visit this afternoon, and Ruth had baked cakes for Mum and Dadās 58th wedding anniversary, which is tomorrow. Iād normally have seen David at church this morning, but of course I wasnāt well enough to go, so it was very kind of them to deliver the cakes to us at home
Glad you are feeling better Margaret - hope you get to enjoy some cake
Been a busy here but achieved a lot, even managed to fit in a tip run !!! and a stroll along the beach this afternoon when the sunshine came for a couple of hours
Stephieā¦Gloucester is much like any other place,ā¦all the usual shopsā¦M&S etcā¦I get fed up with wandering endlessly around towns and we had 5 1/2 hours to kill.(spent a lot of time drinking tea)
There were a few interesting historical places, like a 16th century Inn and the Cathedral was hugeā¦and very ornate.
If you like history you would enjoy it
Brenda Iāve really enjoyed our city trips these last few weeks, but I know what you mean about them all having the same shops! I like looking at the old buildings.
Hazel Iāve been to the tip today too and made a new bag out of our old living room curtains.
Glad youāre feeling better Margaret. How lovely to see your brother every week! I really wish I saw mine more often.
