I just thought this stat from Google analytics may interest other shop owners on here and shows me a bit about my marketing.
I get 20% of my visitors from Craftjuice and only 2% from Facebook.
Guess which one I spend more time on !?
Looks like FB really is in decline for small businesses as I refer most of my FB traffic to my Folksy shop now.
Would love to know any of your traffic observations…
Emma
Tbh this doesn’t surprise me as facebook doesn’t show all our posts to our followers any way.
@clarkiedesigns any chance you can point me in the right direction to get this info. I can get to google analytics and see visitors to my shop but not sure where to look to see where they come from.
Hi.
I love Google Analytics and find it really interesting finding out where visitors are coming from.
I use the ‘Acquisition All Traffic’ data feature.
I don’t use Facebook so I can’t chip in with that one, but yes I get most views via CraftJuice, and also Google search is getting better too since the Folksy search update which is good.
Go to Aquisition on the left hand menu then all traffic.
Hope that helps x
Thankyou I will go and have a look.
I haven’t used Google Analytics for years and I when I looked a couple of months ago, I couldn’t understand anything. Perhaps I should go and try again? It would be interesting to see where your customers are coming from.

PS. I just checked GA and I didn’t even have the correct reference number on my Folksy shop, so that won’t have helped.
I have just had a look and my top 5 referrals for folksy are
google organic, folksy referral, direct and yahoo.
I dont do facebook but do craftjuice when have time and pinterest.
I don’t have google analytics as everytime I’ve tried to join it just doesn’t work.
But I’ve just started using Wanelo and picklist.me and my views just shot up you.
Mine is

23% folksy referral
12% google organic
9% talk folksy
5% pinterest
1.8% twitter
1.3% craftjuice
1.3% stumbleupon
This is based on the last month though where I hadn’t promoted at all (until 1st May) I have virtually given up with facebook as even when I offer a giveaway no one replies. All I do now is add photos and the link back to my listing. I won’t get rid od if as it is still a free ‘promotional’ platform but I don’t put any effort into it now.
Just checked mine for the last month,
24% direct
18% folksy referral
12% google
10% Pinterest
8% craftjuice
4% talk folksy
3% twitter
Looks like I may have to up my craftjuice useage judging by @clarkiedesigns results!

Eileen have you tried the help from folksy for your google analytics?

I have and something is missing off the page. I’ve tried a few times and have given up with it.
It gets so far then something it wants me to do is not available
Such an interesting thread with all the data. I’ve just added Google analytics to my shop to see what it comes up with.
Just be aware though that some people user browser add ons which block things like Google analytics. I have one called Do Not Track, simply because I don’t particularly like things like Facebook putting tracking cookies on my laptop to see where I go when I’m not in their site so they can target ads and stuff at me. So I could visit your shop and may not show up as a statistic
stalking in secret eh Emma?
Yep I could be anywhere and no one would even know it!
