Who is the "Oldest" Folksy Seller?

I was reading a post in Shop Talk, about how to tell who “Likes” our items and our shops. Someone pointed to the “Who Favourites Your Shop” feature, in the left-hand bar on the Dashboard. Hadn’t seen it before, so I went to investigate. Aside from the gratification of knowing that quite a few people have “Favourited” my shop (some of whose shops I admire very much  ), I noticed that one “Favouriter” has been a Folksy member since 2008!

I think that’s really fab!

Wouldn’t it be fun to find out who our “Oldest” Folksy sellers are - and say hello?

Although I’m on my 3rd shop now, I’ve been here in one form or another since 2008 too, my original user number was seventy-something though so there were a few here before me!

Ooh, yes, I know you have been here ages, @NiftyKnits! I’ve been admiring your great Meerkats ever since I came to Folksy.

That’s pretty cool! Helen. Seventy-six, eh?

Me too Hazel, I’m just a “Folksy Junior”, as I’ve been here about 18 months…

I’m a teeny bit younger than the 2008’ers but I’ve had my shop since spring 2009 and had my first sale 5th May 2009 (a frog) so I’ve had 5 years now.

Unfortunately that very first sale is not registered as customer had problem paying, I had no idea what to do so she sent me an Echeque and I cancelled the order… so whatever my total sales figure is showing, add 1.

You can see from this that I have a very big folder in my emails for Folksy as I keep them all.

Early 2009 for me too.

I think the first was Rob, if I remember right his user number in the old forum was 1 and the old folksy rulers were sold in his shop.

Ooo, one of The First Folksy Sellers!! (bows down in homage… we are not worthy etc…)

What is Rob’s shop, @SeetheWoods Leanne?

It’s fun discovering the people who helped to get Folksy up and running. I reckon you should all get a prize!

I have been here three and a half years so I am a relative newbie. I opened my shop originally in 2010 but closed it down after only two months as I had hardly any tme to craft due to pressure from my day job. I quit that just after Christmas 2013 and started selling here properly last year.

Oh I remember swapping things, I got a lovely lemon drizzle cake from @Marmalady - yum!

You had me worried there for a moment - thought at first you meant oldest in age - might qualify there. - Maureen - member since 2009

I think I have been here since 2008 too but my first sale was 2009.

I joined Folksy during the first few weeks it was open – so 2008 ??

I know I caused consternation in the Folksy Office as i asked if i could sell my edibles - it was something they hadn’t considered! The answer at that time was “no” so i made a few half-hearted attempts at selling my crafts over the intervening years untill they eventually allowed food items last year --when i became the first edibles seller!

I now also have a second shop for my crafts - opened last year

I joined may 2009. I might qualify for oldest seller too as my shop name implies
