I have just joined the fab folksy family but am still struggling to make myself visible. I feel a bit lost and still trying to find my way around folksy. I started making candles as a hobby and now here I am.
Hi there. Lovely candles but you have missed out the important tag which is candles. Also do you have any links to instagram, facebook etc.
Hi, I like the strong colours you are using for your candles.
Coming here to the forum is a good place to start for being seen, join in with some of the threads so that we all get to know you and your work. Everyone here is very willing to help.
I think you should complete the ‘about me’ section in your shop and add links to your social media
Beautiful work
hope it gets better for you.
Thank you very much for the kind words. Hope you’re doing ok in your chosen field.
Hi and welcome to Folksy,
first up you might want to consider using variations so that customers can choose their scent and colour at the time of ordering, this will save you the hassle of having to chase them up (and trust me you will have to chase). Here is the blog article on setting up variations How to add variations to your Folksy shop
On to visibility - computer search algorithms are your friend for getting found so you need to pander to their requirements a bit. They cannot see the photos so you need to fully describe what you are selling - what is it/ what does it look or smell like/ what might it be used for/ when might it be used. They also like a bit of repetition so if you are selling a candle you need to put the word candle in the title, first line of the description and in the tags. That way the algorithm knows that it is definitely a candle and will show it to people who are searching for candles. Customers also like to know things like sizes (and burn times for candles). Hi I think you need to check your titles. This one for example
Gives no indication at all what it is… unless you are making furry candles ![]()
There is another with a candle- nobody will look for that as a search word with that hyphen there. It is sooo important that you use clear descriptive words as that is what the search engines use and therefore potential customers. I think someone has alrerady mentioned that you have no social medial links. Without those you will struggle to become visible until you are established. xx
