Woolly Sellers! Knitters and Crocheters, and Woolcrafters

Hiya!
Im more about crochet too, I struggle with the patience for knitting! Your page is great!:+1: Thank-you x

Yes! I actually bought a felted picture from Marmalade Rose the first time I went. There’s loads of supplies for all manner of woolcraft plus Skipton is lovely as well, its definitely worth the trip :+1: x

To give you some idea, this is a shawl I made in the Kingfisher Signature 4ply

Im in Bury. I dont know Ormskirk very well, but we do go to Southport quite a bit, is it round about there…?

Yes its brill fun, and somehow the weathers always nice for it too! Hope I haven’t jinxed that now! :see_no_evil::smile:

Next stupid question from the non knitter - how many balls does that shawl require? And if I was to go for a striping yarn for the middle bit and a solid colour yarn for the edging how many of each should I get? I’m thinking blue tit with cardamon but I do like Bullfinch… (how much does a pair of normal sized socks require?)

Not stupid at all! I made that shawl out of 1 ball, its not a huge shawl though. So for striped and plain, 1 ball of each would be sufficient. And a pair of socks is 1 ball too  Ive seen socks made with the Bluetit and Cardamom and they look lovely  X

Thank you…I spent most of my life as a knitwear designer and teacher but took up painting as well about 6 years ago. Crochet is my first love though and I have had patterns published in magazines and even had suits that were sold in Harrods. Retired now, so just sit and paint and crochet for folksy and other online shops…

Hi Jo Thank you glad you like them I have a few more ready to list just need to get round to it. You know what its like once you start on the next item especially with new wool you cant wait to finish it so listing seems to take a while to get round to. Still I need to get them on so I can buy some of your lovely wool. By the way I have favourited your shop

Sorted - apologies but this is the level of hand holding I need when buying craft supplies for someone else due to not having a clue hense the failure to have got her anything before now. Fingers crossed she likes it.

Hi Sasha!
No problem  I’ve done the note for your Mum :+1: Am I posting to Alison without an invoice/packing slip? X

Yes please but I’ve just double checked their address and I put their old postcode in when I ordered - I’ll PM you with the correct one. Gosh I’m a bad daughter.

Ok!:+1: Can I just checked you wanted 2 of the BlueTit? X

Yup 2 of the blue tit then she has the option of a big shawl all in that if she wants and she can then use the solid colours for other things or she can make herself a shawl/ hat/ glove set using the blue tit and the 2 contrast colours. I’m hoping she’ll turn the bullfinch into socks for me (currently wearing socks in cameleon that she knitted for me)…

I have just received my Simply Crochet magazine…I don’t use any of the patterns but since I no longer do craft fairs , I use books as my eye candy and something to drool over.
I was quite disappointed today because there was a lovely article on making money from crochet. (Something that I have done since I was 6…now heading for 70 !!) All my life I have designed, made and sold things and I just love it. However, I was a little bit saddened on reading the article to see MANY references to EY…and not a single mention of Folksy…how sad is that !
Singing the praises of having an online shop on E
Y.
OK…so most of us have shops there too but such a shame that people over here are not told about Folksy. Especially as it is UK based, for UK crafters.

I agree! I think because Simply Crochet is sold internationally they probably stick to whats likely to be known. Plus companies often pay for these plugs in articles. But I do agree, I offer international delivery, quite happy to deliver to the States so give Folksy a plug! :+1:

OK…some kind lady has give the link to their facebook page…I have been on there and suggested that they give Folksy a plug in the future. here is the page if any of you want to add their comments and pleas…to get Folksy a mention.
