Hi, I’m a newbie, so just getting started, a bit at a time!
Could someone advise please on listing multiple items, exactly the same but different fabric?
eg. I have 4 doggie bandanas in different colours of tartan. Do I put one item, or 4?
Any help would be welcome, thank you
Hi
Just had a quick peep at your shop.
I think you need to add Variations, so people can choose which colourway they are wanting to order. I looked at your childrens aprons and there isnt a way to choose an option. You can add variations by clicking on the “edit or add variations” on your item.
As you arent a Folksy plus member, and thus pay for each item listed ( ie if you say 3 available you pay for 3 listings) I would just say 1 available. If one sells, you can then change the 0 to 1 again and just pay the listing costs as things sell.
It is a different system to another site, and takes a bit of getting used to. But better!
Wishing you all the best with your shop.
It’s a bit confusing that you need to list the item and then add Variations but hang in there, you’ll get used to it! I posted a howto on another thread in case that helps
I agree, it is a very friendly helpful place.
Here’s another thing for you to learn, Sue and Carol .You sent your last reply to me (Samazama), but it was, presumably, actually meant for the original poster. If you click on the little grey reply arrow at the end of a post, it will reply to the person who made that post. If however you click on the bigger blue reply arrow further down after the very last post, it will reply generally on the thread.
I only learnt by trial and error!
Thank you everyone for your help. I have started to tweak my listings already. Going forward, i have a better idea of what to do
Theres quite a lot to think of to start with, so adding a few things at a time.
Will be adding a photo soon and a bit of background story.
Looking forward to joining your community too and seeing all the lovely things you make.
Hi Sheila @sewtocrochet welcome to Folksy, you have some lovely items however, If you are making crochet toys you need CE testing, i saw your lovely bear and bunny but as they are designed as toys for children they do have to be tested. I know there are a lot of sellers in breach of it even on Folksy but as you are new and asking for advice I thought I should mention it, safety standards are currently being revised and are about to get much tougher for makers so if you are unaware of it you need to look into what is required.
I make collectable artist bears for adult collectors and as i use cotter pin joints etc they are not suitable for under 14 years…not 3.
The other thing I noticed was the Winnie fabric, I havn’t looked too much into it and I believe it might be out of copyright this year so you may be able to make things to sell with it but I believe Disney still own the trademark so you might not want to use the full name in your listing. Again there are a lot of sellers on here using disney, marvel etc fabrics who are in breach of regulations.
Obviously it is up to you what you do but I would advise having a read to see if there is anything you need to do and double check the Winnie fabric to make sure you are ok to use it.
Love your bear by the way … sorry to be a pain and good luck with your shop.
