Hi, A customer purchased something from me and forgot to log in so was a guest checkout. She can’t find a way to leave feedback. Is there any way for a guest checkout to leave feedback? I’m thinking there isn’t but just in case.
Thanks, Claire
I’m pretty sure they will get an automated email from the system with a link to the listing for them to leave feedback… Only one problem …i think it is now 2 weeks after the sale date before the email is sent out. If like me you post next day first class that is about a week and a half after they receive the package that they get the feedback email. Used to be a week i think but for some reason it has changed in recent times.
I often find feedback i had completely forgotten about as it comes in so much later than the sale
Oh okay thanks. I assumed they wouldn’t be able to. She is a lovely, regular customer so if she receives an email, I’m sure she will leave me feedback. Thanks for the info.
@kernowclaire Yes, she’ll be sent an email 13 days after purchase, but if for any reason she doesn’t get it (or can’t wait that long) she can email support for the link.
I don’t think any buyer will go to the effort of emailing Support asking for a link to give feedback.
Just wondering - how about adding the feedback link to the Dispatch email as well with a discreet wording that doesn’t look like we’ve hassling them. Maybe on the lines of “Once you have received your purchase you may like to give the seller some feedback using this link …” And only send out the 2-week request if no feedback has been received (I’m sure that could be done?) on the lines of ‘now you have had a chance to enjoy your purchase, perhaps …’
Great idea x
@HelenCliffordArt We do get some when the links are lost to spam,
The reason we extended the time before the email is sent is because when it was shorter, there were a lot of people leaving negative reviews because they hadn’t got their item yet, even though there hadn’t been a realistic amount of time for the item to arrive (although some items may be able to be posted immediately and first class, not all can). For the impatient buyer, many go straight to the review link rather than contacting the seller, and giving them that link immediately on dispatch could risk an increase in those negative reviews from buyers with unrealistic expectations.
We understand sellers worry the delay may mean a buyer forgets to leave feedback meaning less reviews for them, but we also want to protect sellers from early reviews from buyers that expect Prime delivery speeds, because those aren’t the reviews that sellers want more of.
Ah, yes, I can see that might happen. It’s hard to know what to do when one fix has unintended consequences!
That’s great thanks
