Hi @Folksyadmin please can this be updated? I realise there have been a lot of Bank Holidays but it looks pretty unprofessional to still have so much Christmas related stuff on the homepage. If staffing is an issue maybe in future it could be updated on Christmas eve?
I was thinking that too…people with Christmas cash to spend probably don’t want to buy Christmas related items!
This may not be the right page to say this as it is a comment on the contents of the theme of the day - cosy. Could someone tell me the connection between Cosy and all those buttons??? Nice knitted hats and scarves, even cushions are clear, but buttons? I am confused.
Happy New Year to everyone on Folksy.
Exactly. As a buyer I wouldn’t trust the site unfortunately and would go elsewhere.
@StudioRed49 the theme of the day tags are done by the shop owner so evidently the seller of those buttons thinks that they fit the theme (no I’m not sure how they fit the theme either). If you believe that some one is miss using the theme of the day tags you can report them to folksy (there is a report this item on every page just state miss use of daily theme tags in the box) and if they repeatedly get reported they can get blocked from appearing in the theme of the day.
I also thought that it was about time the Christmas theme went but was giving the Folksy team the benefit of the doubt as today is officially the first day back to work after Christmas. So hopefully it will change now.
Thank you for this suggestion, I have reported several of the buttons.
I don’t see a problem with the buttons
Cosy clothes need buttons!
But the tag is Hibernate - which I agree doesn’t link to buttons.
It’s probably just a copying-listings mistake, though - if I had loads of listings for buttons, I’d be copying one rather than retyping and it’s easy to forget to update tags.
30th Dec. Still Christmas
I know the 12 days of Christmas aren’t over until January 6th, but from an internet seller’s point of view, Christmas finished a few days before the 25th. I removed Christmas items from my shop on Christmas Eve. It is now over a week since Christmas Day. PLEASE get Christmas off the front page, and off our shop fronts!
4th Jan. Still Christmas Please can we move on! I don’t understand why nothing has changed.
Well, technically, the 12 days of Christmas don’t end till 12th Night, and that’s when my decorations come down.
I was miffed not to find any mincepies in my local Tesco when I went in last Wednesday!! When they have had Hot Cross buns on the shelves all year round…
Lots of people will have had presents of cash and have been looking to treat themselves to something over the holiday, so why not leave the Gift ideas up for them until the 5th?
It isn’t just gift ideas though, it’s specifically Christmas shopping. ‘Making Christmas 2021’, ‘Shop Christmas’. It makes the site look out of date and not properly maintained.
I totally agree Carolyn. No wonder we keep getting rogue shops, when it is so obvious that Admin. is not on the ball. The supermarkets are already starting to stock Easter stuff! (Not that I recommend that just yet!)
Apologies for the delay, we only returned to work after Christmas today (and some of the team are still off with Covid), so it’s just taking a litlte time to catch up with everything. The Christmas sections have now been removed.
Is this something that someone could have done safely from home? With no need to come into the office?
I agree that the Home page should no longer be Christmas themed but those of you who drop Christmas items from their shops, I would suggest they give it until the first week of January is over. I for one have often sold Christmas items after the day. If people are still in the zone, they may well buy for themselves or in readiness for next year. Especially if you run a sale.
I’d go a step further and recommend that those who have a Plus account don’t remove them at all. I’ve sold Christmas decorations in June and July in the past! I now just move them down to the bottom of my shop in early January and then move them back up to the top in early November.
Thank you.
