I’ve found your 3 on page 9

Your pieces are definitely in there - if you relist them they’ll move up to the first page of the market, at least for a while.

I remember seeing your blue tit and goldfinch yesterday too.

I had some extra traffic to my shop, and 5 sales today - although I don’t know if they were directly because of the event.
When I was hosting the 365 challenge a few months back, I pulled up the sales totals from the beginning of the year to give some context. Not very scientific as not the same people in the group each month, but there was a definite sales peak in months where an event took place.
I also found some gorgeous shops I hadn’t seen before, new people to follow on IG and it pushed me into being more active on IG - which is something I need to work on!

That would be interesting to see how many non sellers attended.
Once I managed to get mine listed they didn’t seem to take too long to upload, obviously not instant but I’m sure it was only 5 or 10 minutes. I wonder if it was slower on Saturday if there were a higher number of visitors. I have to admit I gave up Saturday as mine weren’t changing but obviously now I know why.
Whiich reminds me I should start and look at my stats so I can see where my visitors are coming from and how many.

I sold one of my craftmas things this morning. Because of the market. NO. I shared it on my FB page late last night and sold it to one of my FB repeat customer, follower.

Hi everyone, I think the craftmas event helped to life my views but sadly I did not get any sales as a result. I did find my 3 items but they were on pg 19 and then pg 21 so maybe people did not scan through that far. I think a search tool for the market would be a very good idea.

I saw a three fold increase in my views, and sold 2 items, 1 to a lovely folksy seller and one to a new customer. Most views were within folksy and a slight increase in ‘direct’ ones. I wish the items in the market could have been shuffled so everyone got a chance to be on the first page. Hope Craftmas helped to get the Folksy name out there.

Well, I sold nothing on Folksy. I also sold nothing on Folksy during the last event. In fact I sold nothing on Folksy since August. However I decided to re-open my Etsy shop and have been selling on there. I sold more there in 5 months than the entire year on Folksy. Despite of what everyone is saying about Etsy they do provide outside customers.

@StudioRed49 Relisting items did put them on the front page, for a varying length of time depending on how many others were doing the same at that moment. You could change which ones appeared by changing the order of the ‘craftmas’ tagged listings in Shopkeeping and then relisting one or more of the top three. A bit of a faff so I only did it a couple of times over the weekend but it certainly helped to get more views for those items!

Amanda Thank you for calling me Lovely . The beads certainly are
And I can confirm I bought them because I saw them in the market but that was because they were right at the front. If they had been a couple of pages further down I would never have scrolled that far and would not have found them

You’re right, I went into my listings a few times over the 3 days to rearrange them and relist them to keep at least one in the 1st few pages.

My item views almost doubled and my shop visits went up by 50%, I shared over 20 other people’s market items and had some lovely interactions on social media, I found two perfect pressies for two friends (from two different shops) and I had three Folksy sales over the weekend so overall I’m pleased with how it went.
(And yes, my small and neglected E–y shop had more sales this weekend than my larger and much-plugged Folksy one… but that’s the nature of the beast, E is just SO much bigger that it brings way more traffic… although it’s noticeable that apart from commissions my entire shop there is being ‘carried’ by maybe half a dozen listings that are (a) personalised and (b) repeatable so they get a boost in search. I’ve tried adding more one of a kind listings but they get zero traction whatever I do, so I’m glad I’ve moved most of them over here!)

I think the market did have some benefits as I noticed a slight increase in sales on the ‘365 daily listing page’ over the weekend - not a massive increase but probably more than the usual ‘Christmas uplift’ - as I mentioned earlier I did have 2 sales which were probably from the Craftmas event. I think it did work quite well but to a lesser extent when compared with previous online markets.

I’ve heard many sellers saying that sales and footfall are down this year and it seems people are spending less both online and at actual craft fairs and markets. Perhaps there will be a last minute rush so I shall certainly join in the next event later in December.

I’m not going to complain as it was a ‘freebee’ event for plus sellers. It’s possible that a ‘paid for’ event would not have generated appreciably better results as it seems customers are holding on to their money and only buying a few small inexpensive items.

When you say relist, does this mean removing the original listing for the item and then starting again completely?

Thank you for your comments.

No, it just means you go to ‘Listings’ on your dashboard, select the tick box next to the ones you want to relist, and click the blue ‘Re-list’ button so it resets the expiry date to four months from when you clicked the button

My views and visits were the same as nornal, but I did notice one of the items in the market got a few views.

I got someone trying to buy, but they haven’t paid, haven’t replied to email so I’ve emailed support.

My year on here financially has been less than one month on E, I dislike how E have behaved this year but I get regular orders, and as its part of my wages I can’t consider closing it.
