Hi! I love your stuff, and I love your branding. I have loads of ideas for etchings on my stone settings but life keeps getting in the way. Finding it super hard to focus at the mo!
There are a couple of other things that I do to try to maximise visibility, shall I put them here or start a new forum thread (never done one of those by the way!)?
Thanks so much! Love your stuff too Appreciate the love on IG
x
Great social media ideas everyone, lovely to see everyone is so supportive here x
@judyrowleyart - I have emailed it xx
Morning all…it’s a very windy and wet day here so a day indoors I think, maybe even some sewing!
I’m not good with social media either. I try and post on Facebook a couple of times a week and and share my new makes on X and Pinterest when I first list them. I am not good with Instagram as I use a PC not a phone so if I want to post on there I have to email myself a photo which I can then share on IG using my phone. I check it occasionally using my pc and like & comment on a few posts but must admit I forget all about it most of the time. I have noticed I tend to get more visitors from Pinterest these days than any other place.
An embroidered kitty bookmark today which is made to order
I mainly use Instagram on my pc because I prefer to use a mouse and keyboard rather than my phone, so you should be able to upload photos to Insta on your pc x
Ali @Craftyali1 It might be a good idea to start another thread as you’ll reach a lot more people who will find this topic extremely useful.
Good afternoon everyone I’m back with Oswestry Jewels this time.
My listing today is for these earrings with white opaline bead and either blue or teal crystal bead
Hi all, another wet and miserable day here! Sorry i have missed the last 3 days, I’ve been feeling a little blue but ive picked myself up and given myself a bit of a talking to! Just caught up with all the lovely items.
@Craftyali1 …that is impressive but all over my head…I don’t understand it ?? xx
I paint and list , show on various fb groups and on IG…but that is it. I do what I do because I LOVE it and I shy away from anything too business like…scares me to bits and takes the joy away from it for me…xx I am not even sure that I am doing it right on IG.
Completely understand @teabreaks - I am the same as you - I make things because I absolutely love it and I have always been so passionate about arts and crafts. However, it is my only form of income and I live on my own, so I have no other means of support to share the bills, etc, consequently, I have to work really hard to make a business out of it - including promoting in any way that I can, so I am trying anything to up my social media and SEO game. I spend a fortune on fees and marketing with the ‘other side’ so I really want Folksy to work for my business.
This is a truly super planner! Please can you email it to me aswell? My email is
islamaymakes@gmail.com
Many thans Susie
Also this thread ends at the end of June so a new separate thread could be an ongoing source of help to everyone @Craftyali1 - love the idea of sharing knowledge on SM (not that I have much to share )
This is mine for today. Took me ages because I took photos and film as I went along with the intention of making a reel for Instagram… might manage that later
Now I have figured out how to make a video and finally figured how to slow it down. (not yet posted the slow down version online)
I thought I might do a video for Folksy Friday, just need to decide on a theme.
****Decided theme will be rainy days.
It’s SUNNY (cold though). Woke up to a huge thunderclap and torrential rain around 5.30, but it’s finally dry.
Our neighbour managed to flood the road. They strimmed the banks of their burn, but chucked all the strimmings in the stream. The channel of their bridge is only about half a metre wide so… it blocked … and flooded. OH and a couple of farmer neighbours helped him clear it. OH is now very tired and snoozing.
Brenda @teabreaks you’re not alone, we put our heating on and lit a fire two nights ago. It was so cold and the house was beginning to have that damp, unlived feel.
I’ll hop over and read your thread when you start it @Craftyali1
Thanks for your feedback everyone! I have started a new topic but don’t know if I have done it correctly. I have only made one ‘tip’ (the social media calendar), but will put up a couple of other ideas today. Here’s the link - please do tell me if I have done anything wrong or what else I should be adding:
