Just to let you all know we’re having some issues with our email provider that we’re currently working urgently to fix.
This means there’s a delay on our automated emails (such as sales notifications and verification links) being sent. These should come through once we’ve resolved the issue.
We’re really sorry for any inconvenience whilst we’re working on this, and thank you for your patience in the meantime.
Thank you for keeping us informed . I had a sale this morning , had a PayPal email, it came up on my Folksy orders etc, but never had a Folksy email. I did wonder why not!
@DawnChorusCreations Yes it does include the expiry notifications, but we’re hoping it won’t take so long to sort out that it’s a problem for those.
We’ll give a bigger update if it looks like it’s going to take days.
The emails are back up again now. Any new emails should come through as usual, but unfortunately it looks like all the backed up emails from earlier today are getting blocked.
We’ll see if we can get them to send again, but please have a quick check of your orders page to make sure there are no sales missed, and if you were waiting on a verification link, we’d recommend requesting this again.
We’ll be looking into how we can avoid this happening again in the future.
@Amberlilly As mentioned above, unfortunately the emails from the time we were having problems were blocked by the receiving email providers when they attempted to send after the problem was resolved.
This means the majority of emails from yesterday (including sales notifications, order confirmations, shipped notifications, review requests, expiry notifications, verification links and password resets) will not have successfully sent.
Our engineer will be looking into whether those can be resent, but it may be that’s not possible.
I just had a message from someone that placed an order with another shop (not mine) last Saturday. She messaged the seller yesterday to see when they would be shipping and they said they hadn’t received an e-mail notification about the sale.
She wanted to know from me if there had been problems or if the person was trying to pull the wool over her eyes.
I was pleased (well, you know what I mean) to tell her that there had been problems with the e-mails and that the seller wasn’t fibbing but it did make me wonder how many other sellers are out there that still don’t know that they had a sale during the e-mail blip!
It does pay to check your dashboard at least once a day.
