Do you have your own craft room?

my craft room is my dining room and thankfully I don’t have too many visitors dining there! I can’t show you a photoI I am too ashamed! there are bits of paper everywhere!. And if I tidy I can’t find anything!

My dad and I share a tin shed.
We built it together (I admit that most of my job was holding things and passing things, but I did my bit! ;))

Here’s my half of the inside:
This picture is for an idea of scale- it’s small, and get’s messy easy, but it’s lovely.

These are newer images and represent what state it’s in now, this is after a sort out and a new shelf (and vintage saucepans that I’ve made into storage).

I have a box room where I sew CRAMMED full of vintage fabric. I have to cut out on dining room table which being quite tall is not ideal! however plans are afoot for a purpose built craft/hobby workshop … hopefully in the Spring.

I just re-designed my working room and I am very pleased with the result; there are many vintage and handmade items as well as personalized ones. I love spending time in it!

And here is a blog with more images

There are some fab looking work places! My dream workspace is a treehouse by the sea…not sure when I’ll ever get that but I can dream!
I can’t complain too much though- the beach is 2 seconds from my front door, and I’m lucky enough to live in a quirky 1880’s built house.
We have a basement that became used as every single sort of room you can imagine, from games room, the ‘pub’ room, a spare bedroom for a while, but now I’m happy to say I have claimed it as my own totally undisturbed and warm studio space…

That’s the side with my desk area (just after I’d tidied it!) it’s a pretty good size - although the ceiling is pretty low, but that’s ok as I’m not very tall. Haha
I have that room and my husband has the garage where he makes his surfboards- so it’s a pretty good arrangement really!!

I am sooooo jealous of all these lovely workspaces! I have a table in the kitchen… I dream of one day having a space only for my crafting…

I had a craft room, which was our second bedroom. It was brilliant,as I could leave things mid-make including sewing machine and ovrrlocker, and racks of shelves to spread storage. Since grown-up daughter and her other half moved in, I have one rack of stuff in our bedroom, boxes all over, fabric, wool, cross stitch etc. relegated to garage and now work on my knee. Afraid I got spoilt and occasionally could howl with frustration because things I need are who knows where. Lovely to have daughter and man with us,but space is terribly limited. Ah well…

I work on my kitchen table, but have lots of storage for my fabric etc. It makes me keep tidy and there is lots of sunlight in my kitchen (when we have some) and I watch the birds in my garden. Still don’t know how bits of cotton appear all over the house, it must be the cotton fairly scattering it about. Some lovely studios, craft rooms, etc. Enjoyed looking through these posts. Marg. x

My workroom is finally under way. After doing all the essential stuff kitchen, heating bathroom utility room, yawn yawn. My builder has finally ripped out my old airing cupboard plastered the walls and ceiling, almost ready for painting, then maybe just maybe I will get my wardrobes and dining room table back. I can be as messy as I like. No more putting sewing machine and overlocker away. Hopefully just about another week to go.

I’d love a place to keep everything together but I tend to take over the house (and garden), I cut my wood outdoors, it’s such a messy job with sawdust going everywhere, I also do some of my large paintings outdoors, it’s so much easier to ‘throw’ the paint around. Smaller items like my Fairy Doors and plaques I paint at the kitchen table. Most of my sewing gets done in the kitchen but I sometimes do a few bits while snuggled up on the sofa in the evenings.

I’m loving all of your crafty spaces - here is part of mine (you might get to see the rest once I tidy it!). I get to share a room adjoining my bedroom with hubby’s rowing machine x

Love it!

I work from my dining room as well. can be a pain when I have to make dinner.

I use a spare room which is now kitted out as my studio. It does the job well although the light is a bit poor so I spend a lot of time running up and down stairs, but it don’t mind that too much as at least I’m giving myself some exercise!! I couldn’t post a photo online though as it usually looks as though someone has just burgled the place…

I used to have my own room, then we had children and had to give them bedroom space! We are trying to organise a space for me in our bedroom but it is a VERY slow process. Currently I’m working from the living room floor, and I comandeer the kitchen table in the afternoon too. It’s a good job I make everything by hand!
It’s been great to see the lovely spaces people work in  Teresa at Shirley Rainbow

I get the bigger of our two spare rooms. MrHbyH gets the smaller one for his hobby. We only moved in 12 months ago and I’m finally having the grotty pale green carpet replaced by wood laminate on Monday. It means I’ll be bake to sweep up my cut offs and thread ends without having to traipse downstairs for the Hoover. It’s the little things…

I love looking at all your photos, lovely work spaces. Mine looks like a filthy gypsy caravan, it’s always messy and I have too much stuff!
