FB Newbie help!

I have a facebook business page … same name

I setup a personal account first then opened a business page .
I do not use the personal page except to manage the business page.

When you get your business page setup search for local buy and sell groups or craft groups that allow selling and join them as your business page not your personal account.
To do this click on join group
A box should appear “Choose how to join group” …then select your buisness page as pictured below

If that box does not popup after clicking join group, the group does not allow business pages to join ( which is a bit daft but… )

When you post on your business page you then should have the option to share to the groups you have joined, saves a lot of time
Hope this helps
Andy

Are you able to use FB market place or join the groups even if you have only opened your account but not set it up properly…?

As far as I’m aware not as your business page, which seems a bit daft too…
When you post products on your business page be sure and add a link to your folksy shop , it does drive internet traffic to your shop
On both Folksy and Etsy the stats show where the traffic is coming from, about 25% of mine comes from FB , so it’s worth doing .

Actually yes you are probably right there. Groups are very useful on facebook, more so than my business page x

Hi, that’s very interesting. I never seem to have much luck on my facebook page. Can I ask, do you advertise via facebook ads? and also do you have a facebook shop which links to Folksy. Would love mine to be a bit busier x

If I make a hi value item , I would spend £10 on a FB advert , i reckon its worth a go , by high value I mean over £300
I’ve sold a few pieces within a day or so of a FB ad .
I include links to my Folksy and Etsy on my posts . but my page links to my Etsy shop, simply because I sell more on there than here ( I would love that to change this is a much nicer community )
The other thing is I post daily on my FB page , seems to keep the interest going
My page is not huge I think it has about 600 likes but it definitley drives traffic to my shop
Have a look at my page, same name as my folksy shop

Hope this helps

I’ve never really got on with Pinterest so not sure with hashtags but I will be giving it a go. If its anything like FB or IG then I would, I mean it cant do any harm. Did you manage to get FB sorted? I managed to get my shop approved and got an item in (only one for now lol).

Same here, I have a personal account and created a page for KilewCrochet - as advised by my tech savvy husband (I’d be lost without him)

Hi Simon
No I’ve not sorted FB yet I’ve had a look but can’t seem to work it out dunno why I find IG, pin etc easy to use but not FB, :face_with_hand_over_mouth:must b me…

I’ve created an account that’s all, not put any of my info in yet as I don’t really want to! Do you know if you have to before you can join groups etc
I’d like to know how to create a page if anyone knows
Thanks x

Hi Michelle, you don’t have to put all your details in you can skip quite a lot. In fact you don’t have to put your real name . Once you have your basic details in you should be able to join groups.
I tried to remember how I set up my business page and totally forgot lol so I found a decent video to give you a hand. I had so many issues trying to set up at first but I am slowly getting there. Once you get your business page set up then you go into commerce manager you can add items to your shop. The shop button only appears on your FB page when you add an item in commerce manager (on FB) which took me ages to find this out. Personally I think FB is the best platform, it is free but you can set up ads which looks a great idea. You can pay a few pounds for something like 7 days and it pops up on peoples feed, so you can be one of those annoying ads lol. I have yet to do this but I will. Let me know how you get on, I am still learning so any info is a God send.
Thanks

Does anyone know when you post on FB are you allowed to post an item for sale or should you just be posting your items information etc

Thank you to everyone who has helped me with this :grinning::smile:

:star_struck: Thats great no problem you are welcome

Yes you can post an item for sale but you do it on commerce manager not FB you have to add items then it gives you a shop tab on your business page. Have you been on commerce manager yet?
Commerce manager is part of FB but this is where you add/edit items to your shop
