A newbie here, and I’ve actually sold something, the first ever thing, which was very exciting indeed as it’s been a long-time coming, but I’ve had no feedback whosoever, which isn’t very reassuring…
craft confidence crisis!
I know it’s probably silly as it’s only one sale, and one customer, but still… I’m interested in what you crafty folks experience when it comes to customer feedback…
I think I thought of everything when it came to communication, wrapping thoughtfully/carefully, prompt postage… thanks in advance for any ideas, tips, reassurance ??!
Congratulations on your first sale, and here’s to many more!
The morst probable reason for not getting any feedback is that it’s only possible to leave feedback here if you have an account, which mant /mostcustomers don’t bother to do - see whether your customer is identified by a name (eg HelenCliffordArt) or an email address (eg helen@helencliffordart.co.uk) and that will tell you.
There was an email address to which I wrote back a brief ‘thankyou for your purchase, any problems please don’t hesitate to get in touch, with a little story of the origins of the materials- from Sheffield where the customer lived etc’ but the customer didn’t reply.
I think it’s just one of those things, but has left me doubting my work.
Most of my sales haven’t ended with feedback, I always think that no news is good news. When you do get a nice review it does lift your spirits and makes you remember why you love crafting.
Hi Helen don’t doubt your work, not having feedback is the norm both here and on Etsy.
I think that as long as you get some feedback once in a while and its good then your jobs done.
I’ve sold so much more on etsy and although my feedback is low its good feedback which i’m happy with, good luck
Most of my buyers never leave feedback but I do get a lot of repeat buyers year after year so I know they are happy. Not everyone wants to leave feedback so I think no feedback is just as good.
No feedback either. Though my latest sale did on FB. And I do get repeat customers. So can’t be all bad. So I’m not worried. I worry more about the other site leaving feedback!!
I don’t often get feedback either. As another person on this thread said, “No news is good news.” It means they got the item and it was what they thought they were buying and now they are focused on something else.
There is a kind of feedback fatigue creeping in with a lot of people nowadays anyway. Even some quite large companies sometimes have items on their websites with no feedback. Might have something to do with the way Amazon e-mails you demanding a review, and then chases you if you don’t leave one. They have spoiled it for the rest of us.
Well thanks everyone for your input… (thanks for your feedback )… yes i think we’re totally inundated with feedback requests, from everything, and it’s tiresome i agree. I will endeavour to no longer worry about it and continue with the folky shop! Thankyou again
