Folksy 365 - Daily Listing Challenge Thread - JANUARY 2019

Evening everyone! Had a productive day today - I was running a workshop this morning. It was the first jewellery making workshop that the lady had done & she was delighted and booked two more courses with me.

I am running another one tomorrow on making wire wrapped rings using sterling silver wires, without soldering.

Will be downing tools in a mo and chilling out for the rest of the evening. Hope you all have a good one.

All caught up to here.

Good evening yay happy dancing for your sales Deborah and Cynthia  :dancer:

Sorry the job didn’t work out Roz @OrchardFelts I do believe in fate and everything happens for a reason so there’s a better job out there for you :hugs:

Phew Elly @EllyRowbothamPrintmaker that must have been annoying! glad it’s sorted

Pauline @PollysWares138, rather than close you can ask admin to re-name your shop for knitwear (which is gorgeous by the way!) I successfully ran my Art and Craft Shop as a combined Jewellery and Art shop for a number of years, I only made the change to two separate shops last year when I switched to metalsmithing, perhaps you could try combining, Brenda does both as well

Thanks for all the job commiserations. I am feeling better about it now  I have found another job I can apply for - I tick all the boxes on the person specification - so will try that. The problem is that applications take so long to fill in and I find it hard to remember what and when I have done things, I have done so many different things over the years and stopped keeping an up to date CV many years ago when I went self employed. Didnt think I would find myself applying for jobs again! Oh well, I will set some time aside and get my head down. Am running seriously short of funds so hope I can find something soon.

Hi. Another 2 from me tonight.

Love the stitch marker @LemonandGinger, look forward to seeing what others you put into your shop.

It seems I’m not the only southerner moved north. Originally an Essex girl now living near Rochdale so not far from you @konyskiw or @Beadseedz.

Sorry to hear about yours mum’s op @SarahDesignsUK. I dropped my hubby off for an op on his hand one morning. He was sat there for ages and no one would give him any info when he asked when they would take him through. About 4 hours later they eventually told him that the anaesthetist had gone home for the day and he couldn’t have it. When they called me to collect him they made me think that something had gone wrong so I drove to the hospital in a panic to find that he hadn’t even the op. Grrr. They rescheduled pretty quickly so hopefully won’t be too long for your mum.

Snap! I’m from Essex too originally. Born in Ilford and grew up in Leigh on Sea. Left there a very long time ago though.

Good morning yay happy dancing for your sale Valerie  :dancer:

Roz @OrchardFelts when I was job hunting a few years ago I had the same issues been working for the same company for nearly 30 years and done lots of different jobs so rather than start with a CV I started with just a blank document and thought back about all the jobs I had done and wrote a bit about each of them, trying to think about specific projects or pieces of work I’d done whilst in them to use for examples. When I did my CV and job applications then I could just pick the relevant bits out of the list to match whichever job I was applying for, good luck with your application

Hope you feel better today Sarah @SarahDesignsUK and fingers crossed for your mums op going ahead next week.

Thanks Max @MaxPringJewellery - I have been trying to do something similar. I find a lot of forms ask for, for example, employment history with any gaps fully explained and asking for exact start and finish dates (not content with year or even month and year but want day month year!!) I can barely remember what day it is today let alone what day I started a job 25 years ago especially as many of the jobs overlapped! And as for qualifications, really cant remember what, when or where i got most of those - I have got a certificate folder somewhere but it is packed away in a box of ā€œthings I’ll never needā€ in storage!

I have got a full day to myself today with no distractions, at least until 4:30 when my daughter gets home, so I am going to put it to good use and try and get lots done.

Some gorgeous items on the thread as usual. Heres another new scarf - I love this one, despite loving to work with bright colours sometimes the neutral ones draw me in

Good morning.
Hugs to those that are under the weather and those that are in need of a hug.
Quick dash in as I’m going into town with my son to get some bits and pieces for his house. Got the hound to walk first that is if I can get her out of bed.
Another infinity scarf
