I’m sorry that your Mum didn’t seem to recognise you - but you never know. When my Uncle had dementia, I visited him the day before he passed and although for most of the time he was totally vacant, there was just a moment when he looked straight into my eyes that I knew, he knew who I was - just for a second!

Happy mothers day to all those celebrating - I hope you all get spoilt. I’m afraid I’m a bit of a spoil sport when it comes to events like these - we dont really mark the occasion as I feel its just an excuse for commercialism of something we ought to be celebrating every day of the year - but thats just me! I seem to remember when we were very young children we used to go to church and get a daffodil to give to our mums, we weren’t expected to spend a fortune!

Roz @OrchardFelts I thought that robin was real! I totally get where you’re coming from as me and hubs are the same with valentine’s, we don’t even acknowledge it. But I do like to do something for mother’s and father’s Day even though I do things throughout the year.
My husband wished me ‘happy wife’s’ day this morning. I said ‘what’s that all about?’ He said well you ain’t a mum so happy wife’s day! Never mind that I’ve been stepmum to his two, now adult, children for the past 16 years (not that I expect them to see me as a mum as they have their mum but we do have a lovely relationship)

Morning all . Recovered (just about) from the 360+ miles round trip yesterday… eughhh.
At least we got there ,though we were going down the M62 the wrong way at one point! Fortunately there was a services to double back from . I was probably being drawn unknowingly to my home city of Liverpool…Was completely exhausted last night and soon fell asleep (after looking at the thread!)
So glad yo are feeling less anxious now Carol @Knittingtopia I hope the emergency meds get sorted soon . Also glad that you can get on with your glorious knitting . How you knit looks so perfectly done . My mum is/was a fabulous knitter but she doesn’t seem able to cope with it anymore ,which is a shame.
I love the colour of your pot Martin @MartinShackletonCeramics Vibrant , gorgeous. Hard to get that colour with a glaze, I think.
Good luck with sorting out your other shop Karen @karenscraftybitz It’s very difficult to juggle everything when you go to work too. Hope to ‘see’ you now and again.
Glad you are feeling calmer Sarah @thedotterypotter Was myself high up there worrying with , the drive, the son , the daughter yesterday . I am ignoring Mother’s Day as all I want is for them to be ok . Turns out I needn’t have worried about the boy (cycling on dangerous roads etc etc) and I think he is happy that I said just text me to tell me you are ok for Mother’s Day! I didn’t mention it to my daughter , who keeps phoning up in tears . She would be mortified that she has forgotten . She is coming up to her degree show and its all getting a bit much.
Hope your operation goes well Sally @LifeCovers and glad that you saw your mum . You never know , she might have realised you were there. Great that you can carry on with your sewing and making your beautifully things . Take care.
