O me of little faith ( not usually - just where machinery is involved) OH has fixed the boiler :smiley::smiley: wasn’t expecting that . It all seemed so dismal . He went off and bought a fan heater , as the snow was coming , to dry out to the burner which literally had been full of washing machine water … weird …( joined up somehow with the condensate pipe) and it has started working  The pipes outside have been wrapped up with an old duvet , so hopefully it won’t happen again . It was -8 last night :snowflake:️ I won’t be putting the washing machine on again in a hurry .
Wooo hooo

Good evening, yay happy dancing for your sales @pipdesigns, Sue and Carol, an early visit from the sales fairy :fairy: dancing today shall mainly take the form of ice skating :ski:

Welcome to some new faces Emma @Homegrownhats, Gemma @gemmaleighturner and Susan @bramleycards and welcome back Martin @MartinShackletonCeramics and Daniel @danheffer

Oh dear hope your nephew thaws out soon Roz @OrchardFelts, I remember having to do that for our daughter once, our son actually had to abandon his car after 5 hours in a traffic jam and walk to a friends house which was closer, but still 2 miles from where he was it was terrible, relieved to say our are all safely home already. Carol @Knittingtopia hope your hubby manages to make it home and wish him a Happy Birthday :cake:.

Well it’s snowing proper here now, I managed to get into work this morning and left at 12:30 as they issued a red warning for South Wales, it started snowing at 3pm and has not stopped yet, it’s blowing a gale too. Forecast is to keep going like this now until 3am so we have had to abandon plans to travel to Gloucester for family funeral tomorrow, we feel awful but there’s nothing we can do, the family are planning a memorial later in the year so hopefully that will make amends.

Sue hopefully they can re-arrange for another day so you don’t lose out

Daniel @danheffer worth checking out charity shops and car boots for canvases you can paint over, I often see those printed ones, I wouldn’t of course paint over someones actual artwork but have no problem with recycling a printed one, I have one hanging in my bathroom that at one time was a hessian canvas with a shoe printed on it! I painted it forst with gesso to seal and it’s been there for several years now.

Well done Sarah @SarahDesignsUK, I miss making the kiddies dress up costmes, can’t wait for our little one to go to schol so I can make her some

Hope you get sorted soon Brenda and Caroline

Evening all, the snow has finally come today, it is so fine and dry like sand that it isn’t sticking to anything , just building up in drifts.
Will pop back after supper to catch up.

Poor boy, was he meant to be celebrating somewhere? Good of you to take him in.
I worry about teens in this weather, a few drinks and they are oblivious to the danger of the cold.

That;s so nice of you to put him up Roz @OrchardFelts
We’ve had loads of snow here now too - just a sprinkling this morning then tonnes! Youngest walked to his friends about 3 1/2 miles away and told me they were going to walk across the pond - I think he was joking but I made him promise me that they wouldn’t. My nerves were in tatters all the time he was out! He’s 17, so not really a child but he still acts like it sometimes. He got back just as it was getting dark, so I breathed a sigh of relief! We live on a hill and he said that loads of cars were blocking the roads as they were sliding backwards and people were trying to push them up!

Glad you got your heating sorted Caroline @carolinefrodsham and I hope you get yours fixed soon Brenda x

Hello

Nipping in to catch up with hearting & pinning.

I hope everyone’s warm and snuggly after lots of frozen pipe problems.
My other half had to defrost our boiler outlet pipe earlier. It was completely frozen solid.

It’s blowing a gale here at the moment with very fine, wispy snow which is creating drifts.
I managed to walk to work again today as I don’t think I could have got the car off the drive. The roads quite bad too.

I haven’t made anything new as I felt really tired when I got back in and so cold. I huddled up on the sofa and watched a film instead.

So it’s just a little relist from me.

Thanks again Maxine @paperchainsandbeads for looking after us with the tally.

Hubby got home ok. The local farmers were out trying to clear the snow. The road itself was still blocked but they made way for the work units to get in and out.
The school have already updated for tomorrow - another snow day! I’ve only worked Monday this week. The only thing is, I doubt I’ll be getting paid. Oh well, more time for knitting
