Glad everyone is safe and that those out there have got home.
My hubby has gone to work for his night shift, messaged me when he got there safe and sound, he said it was pretty hairy, but as no one else was on the road, he did not have any problem when he was skidding and sliding about. Thank goodness! I told him if it terrible when he is due to come home, not to bother and to bunk down at work, then realised he does not have his morning meds with him! Argh, he took extra food, just not his morning tablets and insulin! Fingers crossed!
My son walked home from work, a journey which normally takes about 30 mins, took him an hour and a half and he looked like a snowman when he arrived! He promptly decided to sweep the snow off the path, as he was already cold and wet, I did tell him, as kind as he was to do it, it would not make much of a difference. He decided to go ahead anyway. Within a few minutes of clearnight the path, it was filled in again with the wind blowing the snow about, there was not much hope!
Announcing my Listing now as I am envisaging being a bit busy in the morning! My item is a hemeatite gemstone leaf keyring or handbag charm.
Good morning, no change here lots of snow and we have about a foot I would guess based on my back garden, not in any hurry to get the ruler out though! drifts too so itâs banked up in front of my front door and now itâs falling as a kind of icy rain, sounds like tiny hailstones. Luckily I brought my laptop home yesterday so I can work from home this morning, I already had leave booked for this afternoon so I can play then
Whilst I was idly waiting for the coffee to brew this morning I was fascinated by the ice patterns on the glass door, trying to decide if this is a rabbit atop a post or an elephant
Morning all.
Looks like a squirrel on a post to me Max @paperchainsandbeads.
As non of us have to leave the house today we have been having a lie in ,I was the first to crack thinking the poor dogs would be cross legged, but they werenât in a hurry to go out either.
We didnât get much snow, it turned to freezing rain, so it is quite treacherous out now.
Hope everyone is safe and warm.
Back later with a listing.
I hope everyone is staying warm and cozy! definitely not liking the sound of the freezing rain, very dangerous indeed! i am going out later for a few drinks hoping the snow doesnt stop me! i did hear its supposed to get worse today! let be over already! luckily i have had this week off work. so i cant really complain!
here is a listing for today, something new for meâŚits not that perfect but i think its charming
Morning all,
Roz @OrchardFelts what a lovely thing to do. Iâm sure his parents are incredibly grateful to you too. A few years back, my daughter was trying to get to college in snow when the bus driver decided he wasnât going any further, she was left in a tiny village, alone, but some kind soul took her in. She did manage to get back home before the evening⌠but at least we knew she was safe.
Yesterday, I went to the cinema with my son. We walked in and we were the only two in there. A few minutes later two more people walk in and he turns round and says hello, thinking they must be his friends I was really surprised to see my brother and his partner! We ended up with the cinema to ourselves, a family affair, what are the chances of that ever happening!!!
Todayâs listing
Lots of snow here but been out with the dog - didnât get very far, it was too much effort to walk through it.
A friend of the guy who turned up last night offered to come out and pick him up yesterday but ended up in Southampton (an hours drive from here on a good day!) He said he would come back for him, got very late so we went to bed, not sure what happened as the guy is still here so he obviously didnât make it!
No chance of going anywhere today so my sister and I have embarked on a massive pre move clear out of 12 yrs+ accumulated junk! Not even halfway through one room yet and its a big house.
I was going to list a lighter scarf today but in view of the weather Iâll show you another warm one!
Morning all, many thanks for the wonderful welcome back yesterday I meant to return earlier, but things got in the way! Now I have a plus account I will hopefully stick at it. I also managed finally to get signed up with the stripe account as well, so hopefully that will help.
Todayâs listing
I hope everyone is safe and warm, itâs bitter cold, but not that much snow here.
Good Morning
I spent much of the night awake, worrying about how we would get to the Hospital if there was an emergency as most of Southampton was in total gridlock last night. They shut some of the major flyovers in and out of the city as there were lorries blocking the routes. (Maybe thatâs why the boys friend never managed to come and get him Roz @OrchardFelts! How did he end up being stranded?
I really do hate the snowy weather it heightens my anxiety 100 fold! I will spend today, telling myself that there will be no emergencies to worry about and we donât really need to be anywhere! I hate the thought that people (any people!) canât get home! It looks set to be a bit warmer next week, so hopefully it will thaw out soon!
Morning All hope you are safe well and warm. Stay in if you can. I went out to get our bin in after the collection yesterday and slipped on the ice out there. Nothing broken but very bruised on my hip and very shaken up. Itâs quite sore moving around today.
Itâs another relist today Iâm afraid as I havenât felt to doing a new listing yet.
Ooo have just read up on all the post, this weather is certainly having an enormous impression on us all, one way or another.
Hope everyone ok. No more snow here, just sitting in shaded areas, but v cold and v windy. We both had problems getting off last night it was gusting so much
