Hiya,
Another mammoth catch up of the thread from me today.
Did anyone join the Email Marketing 101 zoom thingy this lunchtime? Was interesting but left me with a gazillion questions!
No new listing today so here is a photo of me on my dog walk this morning with Sadie. I got these delicious new boots for muddy woodland dog walks for Mother’s Day from my tribe. I couldn’t get a decent photo on my own so got a really lovely gentleman out walking his pooch to take it for me. Admittedly he did give me a funny look when I asked him but he did a great job considering he said he’s never taken a photo with a phone before!
Boots are by a company called Merry People and made from natural rubber instead of plastic and have a lovely neoprene lining and fantastic sturdy tread. They do amazing colours and I’ve already asked for another pair for Christmas! These are Beetroot and Light Pink!
Create a board , i have one called my folksy shop. Ithink creating a board is fairly straight forward.
Go to an item in your folksy shop (im using a phone so not sure if its differnt on pc) click in the address bar at top of screen the share symbol should appear (its the sideways Y symbol with balls on each stick) click on it and choose pintrest.
Choose an image you want to upload and the board you want to load it to then click save.
Make cup of coffee and repeat on all your other items.
Your pintrest board should now have the images you uploaded which when someone clicks it, it should take you to that item in your shop.
I think thats how it works ive just fone it to all my items feel free to message me in messenger if i can help
Brett @PurpleDragonartsandcrafts I GOT as far as number 3 …the only icon I could see was a tiny circle and a dash and underneath it a reversed one…I clicked on it and all I got was Folksy.com …security and another one …cookies and site data…so I hit a brick wall
I am on a laptop…
I managed to skip to number 5,…well the make a cup of coffee bit, although it was a cup of tea,
A few years ago I made a folksy pinterest board and put everyone’s items on it but it seems to have disappeared now…also there was a big discussion on here ( perhaps Max @MaxPringJewellery will remember)… but it was something about sharing on pinterest and if items were shared on there too much, it had a detrimental effect on google ratings…so a lot of us stopped doing it
So I am sorry but I am stumped.
Good point Sharon about losing the link I never thought about that! I don’t use Pinterest to its full potential because of time restraints but it is always good to learn more about what it could do - and it looks like some others feel the same way - great idea
Today I caught up on the Folksy session on Pinterest that went out a few weeks ago. I found it a bit laboured and I lost concentration. It also sent me down a rabbit hole … tried to convert my account to a business account but apparently I already have one. I found I can’t install the Pin shortcut for Safari on my new Macbook (if anyone knows how to do this, I’d love to know …) so I installed Google Chrome instead but the internet was dodgy and it wouldn’t install for ages … so, count me into a Pinterest thread @TheOldButton, Sharon. I think I have lots of chaos to get straight!
Hello,
Rolling in late again after a busy day. Long walk with a friend this morning and lunch, then went to pick up husbands birthday present - a stone house sign for our new place - which is so heavy I’ll have to have him get it out of the car tonight - either that or drive around with it in the boot until his birthday on the 26th! Then dropped off some stock at a lovely shop where I sell some bits.
Anyway, I’ve been through everything to here but I’m afraid I’ve forgotten most of the news.
I have a Pinterest account but I have no idea how to use it. I’ve loaded a few bits on there but that’s the limit of my knowledge - I just don’t get it. I know lots of people on here use it so I’d be interested to get involved in a new thread to see if it helps
Ah im not sure on a lap top but basically you need to find the share button and when you click it share to pintrest
As for a detramental effect on google to be honest according to my shop stats ive only had 1 visit from google i cant see that it can make it much worse
Tea is a reasonable alternative or wine !
