Folksy Friday was pretty busy last week and we’re really thrilled so many of you took part - especially as the very first official week coincided with the referendum news! Thank you!!

We’ve compiled all your blog posts, Pinterest boards and #folksyfriday tweets in one place so you can have a look back and see what people were talking about… and hopefully get some inspiration on how you can take part this week.

You can find them all here > https://storify.com/folksy/folksy-friday-24-june-2016

We’re looking forward to seeing what you all come up with this Friday too!!!

hi camilla - when do we find about this week’s theme? thanks.

Hi Sally. You can make your #folksyfriday on whatever theme you like - it’s totally up to you! I think that makes it more interesting because we get to see lots of different types of work and viewpoints. The only bit where the is a set theme is the Folksy Friday thread on the forum and we’ll announce that here on Friday mornings.

If you want to join in with Folksy Friday but you’re not sure how, you can either take part on the forums by posting items that fit this week’s theme (which is Summer Days) in this thread or you can create your very own theme and share it on your blog, Facebook page, Instagram account, Twitter feed, Pinterest boards… so many ways to join in!

For Twitter, I’ve decided I’ll be sharing screen grabs of shops. I always feel a little bad when sharing scans of peoples Artwork without their logos of anything on them, so I decided I’d share the pictures directly from the shop: like so:

Ooh those are my cushions in there. That’s exciting! Thank you

We’ve started pinning all your Folksy Fridays! So if you have any you’d like us to add to this Pinterest Board, don’t forget to share them on the #folksyfriday tag - and if you have a collage that would be especially brilliant. (We use the free templates on canva.com to make ours.)

I’ve just shared this beautiful Heron from @HelenCliffordArt on my Facebook page. It reminds me so much of the beautiful birds featured on 18th C chinoiserie wallpaper that is at Ightham Mote and Cobham Hall in Kent. The wallpapers are handpainted, just like Helen’s piece.

WOW - I shared a link on my FB page and the reach is non-existent!! Probably because I was linking to a shop?? How does everyone else manage to get viewers via FB for their Folksy Friday announcements??
