That is very nicely put.Thank you.

I’ve noticed that the price stickers are obscuring a lot of items which is a bit sad because you’re completely missing out on some parts of the photo…

 Also has anyone else noticed that on the new search screen your favourites aren’t registered?

Quite simply that price tag needs to go. It looks cheap, Temu style and does nothing to enhance our shops. And Yes we need our shop names back.
Both fixes are URGENT~ but so is the rest of it…

I’ve just checked 3 similar competitor sales platforms, handmade, multi vendor like Folksy.
Not one of them has :

  • in your face price tag in the middle of the image,
  • random shapes and sizes for listing image
  • No seller name
  • Curated Gift guides splitting the result page in half,
  • 7 page restriction on results shown,
  • results dominated by a single seller…

and the sites i have checked I can promise are selling far more than is sold here and the sites are known to the world out there too
Best practice comes to mind and what we have here is anything but.

I love the look of the Folksy site, the front page and the individual shop pages. More than happy with them.
I abhor the look of the search page never mind its faulty search results
As a customer newly landed on the site. One search and Good Bye

Just a further point I wanted to add to my earlier comments is that there is an arrow pointing right at the end of the numeral 7 when there are 7 pages of search results. I thought it meant there were further pages, but when it is clicked on, nothing happens, but the implication of the arrow to me means ‘lots more pages to follow’. It may be just my brain implying the wrong thing, but to me it’s jarring.

I’m searching for a bum bag at the mo - needless to say the results for that are many and varied, and I don’t know if I’m seeing all there is. I don’t dare search the American term, goodness knows what’ll come up! :joy:

Had to laugh at your comment Carrie. Did a search for bum bags and got the poop bag holders with the bag coming through the bum!

***** Startling news ***** in an attempt to bypass the silliness of the Folksy search to see if there really are any Bum Bags on here I asked Google to find me
“bum bag folksy”

And I got a Folksy page .. this one..

which had exactly what i had asked to see and nothing else. No dog bottom poo bag, naughty knickers…just bum bags…

So the way forward seems to me, if you actually want to find something on Folksy, is ask Google to find it for you instead !

Nice display all the same size image boxes, prices neatly underneath with the shop name. What’s not to like

Now how do we tell our customers that ??

There are earrings on the first page…
Perplexed for a moment even knowing how bad the search is.

“Yum tiddly bum.” in the text !!! No Bag though !

Just wasted 5 minutes of my precious remaining life to work out why the cufflinks were on there as for the life of me couldnt find the word Bum only Bottom… got it at last in a tag !! :sob:

Think you’ve cracked it @JOYSofGLASS (see what I did there? :joy:). I’m guessing that’s all the bum bags that are here then.

Seriously though, it’s not the ideal way to search!

I just searched make up bag zipped in the same way. 11 pages with 60 per page <=666 make up bags.
The same search on Folksy direct only gave me 7 pages of 48 so 336 and some of those were pencil cases, glasses cases even make up remover pads.
Some crochet bags (unlined  ) came up too… Good luck keeping your eyeliner pencils in there !!
++ and no shop names ,

Sadly it doesnt really help if you get too specfic… i.e. if you choose something which Folksy don’t have a specific category for…

Good discovery Joy! Considering, if my memory serves me correctly, that google caused the search to malfunction originally, years ago, its pretty ironic that it now works better than the site search…

Ive no objection to the Gift Guides. I have a huge objection to them being slapped down in front of my face when im searching for something else. Thats just obnoxious.

So I’ve got a moth issue in my flat and I’d like to get some natural remedies/deterrents as well as potentially nuking the little buggers with the entire stock of Lakeland’s anti-moth offerings. I’m sort of delightedly bewildered by what came up when I searched here:

Not pictured: several rolls of copper wire and some fingerless wool gloves.

and if I’d been looking for it I’d have been pleased as anything haha, it’s lovely.

Searched up ‘cedar’ because apparently moths hate it and got some paintings of Amy Winehouse. Painted on cedar wood maybe?!

It’s lovely and I’m actually really surprised to see it’s in a relevant search result especially when looking at majority of the results on that page which are just plain ridiculous.
There’s not really much point in searching for anything anymore, could just type some random sh.. into the search box and take pot luck what it brings up, bit like one of those lucky bags

Except you won’t get one lucky bag but 23 all the same but different colours and the shop names are hidden to fool you into thinking they are all from different shops

GRRRRR just been dealing with Facebook who for some obscure reason suspended my business page for no good reason and they really did suspend it not a spam message pretending they are going to. This was via a notify and it meant it. I hit the review button, went into chat and shouted and it appears to be back.
I don’t need that agro in my day !!

  .. like the other day when i went into overdrive checking all the different rabbit items to count how many were actually from the same shop which I might add was over 5 pages full..and I was fuming because a shop name would have told me it was in fact a special gift guide of rabbits for that one seller with a couple of dozen other bits thrown in to fool me

Oh how annoying with facebook…they are another pain in the …e… i hate on line stuff !
Shouting did the trick though, pleased you got it sorted.
